Germany did control France too, but they respawned.(note i never played as the germans, the ai did it, I only helped them take portugal)They had like 70+ military units army in 1600 ad 1 era ahead of russians and their allies turkish, could have easily invaded both.
I first played as english then americans this game, was funny looking when the first colonies appeared in 1790

ahh too bad. I should have screenshotted the fall of the Persians. Pura became Indian and Parsa became independent. Counter-conquest. I think Shushan didn't culture flip to Babylon and so ended up having 90 some % Babylonians. After that, it culture flipped with the Persian army inside.(I am guessing) Also: China was wiped out by barbs before I spawned. 4 of the 5 cities in China were barb with the middle one being independent.(including tibet).

Yes, India captured three (and Persia one) cities in Mongolia after it collapsed.

I have no screenshots, but in one of my 300 B.C. America starts Germany hadn't expanded, all it had was Germany and the Baltic countries. In that game in fact, France became the predominant world power, conquering Italy, Barcelona (after Spain collapsed and colonizing Madagascar, Brazil (French Equinoxale), along with Algeria and Tunisia. So, what happened is that their vassal was the Dutch and around 1880 they attacked Germany and France took Francfort and the Netherlands took Hamburg. Directly following this Germany collapsed, but here is where everyting went crazy. On the same turn there was a Congress and they got Salisbury (Harare, in Zimbabwe) from the English. So, after they collapsed Salisbury turned into their new capital and they were now Germany-in-Africa. Also, this is the same game where I had Dutch conquerors and a Porteguese empire with the Crimea and Romania. Not to mention a Super-China with 10 vassals and invading India and the Middle East.
