That is a problem in DoC, no one sticks in Parthenon long enough to get al the wonders.
It is great as a new world civ the cause you could whore them all up

I was playing as Carthage - the Arabs showed up and I let Jerusalem flip and razed it right away and frantically stuck a pile of spears in the Sinai. A few turns later, without me really killing too many of Saladin's units, I manage to get him to convert to Judaism for peace! So I went back and did it again while keeping Jerusalem.

Unfortunately he went back to Islam right away, the Ethiopians collapsed, and the Persians converted to Islam too so I went from all Jews to no Jews in the space of about 10 turns. I eventually collapsed but still managed to win the UHV (with the highest score strangely enough - I guess everyone else was teching even slower than my 40%)

I'm gonna guess the Netherlands or China(maybe both) ganged up on Japan and sent it to collapse, and Portugal came in to get the scarps?

Japan collapsed, the Dutch and the Portuguese both got one city through a congress, China attacked from the sea, and the Dutch took over a second city.

Not sure if this qualifies, but I felt rather accomplished, almost having the Roman Empire.

First is a turn right after Byzantine spawned. Besides England, part of Iberia, and east of Carthago, I nailed the Roman Empire(Counting Constantinople). Well maybe I lack a bit of control around the black sea, but that's pretty trivial.

Second and third I mopped up some unclaimed territories...But unfortunately, Carthago go snagged by barbs and Byzantines claimed their spawn territories.

Yes I know.... Culture building lagged. I'm planning on re-doing it. I got so close, just needed about two or three more settlers for the rest of Iberia and England.
