Hahaha love it how that one guy said not to generalise and how you just proceeded to generalise women.
I know a lot of girls who just buy things that look good on them. However, some items are more widely available during the time that they are "in fashion". That is to say, if during a month the Uggs were very fashionable they were sold widely during that time period. Because it's sold so widely it's more likely that the girl will find a pair of Uggs which look good on her. It doesn't mean that she's conforming to what's in fashion as stated by fashion magazines and fashion icons.

Why is the Arts & Entertainment thread so inactive?
I find it hard to believe people have stronger opinions about current affairs (Which is what most OT threads concern) than popular culture.

Yeah, nor do you seem many women actually wearing uggs on a night out so it's not really an issue for me.
Arts maybe so dead because it is a bit of an intellectual arts and entertainment currently rather than a "what did you watch on tv last night" arts and entertainment. OT you rarely have to think when you post.

...Then again, I agree with the uggs being hideous. Not to mention their very name carries connotations of stupidity with it.
Ugg ugg is what cavemen say! Unless women start beating eachother with clubs, I demand they remove the boots at once!
...Then again. The boots fit the people; to date, all women I've met are completely politically inept, prone to emotional responses rather than logic and data.
My favorites? My sister and cousin saying, "Taxes are stupid" one night at dinner. I facepalmed, and then I explained that all the luxuries they receive - including schooling and use of the roads - are paid for by those stupid taxes, and they still defend their position by saying they didn't need to use the roads and schools and such...
And that brings me to my next question, inspired by a comment my pro-Hilary aunt said when I mentioned that any capital gains tax raises could hurt the stock market:
Who says the stock market - which helps some people get rich, helps some people invest for their future, is often used as a measure of the strength of the economy, and helps companies gain funds for expansion - is obsolete?

Guess everyone just doesn't find the topics current or interesting I guess. To be fair there are currently threads on only some very specific things, and not broad threads where people talk about various forms of entertainment; maybe those would generate more discussion, if anyone created such a thread...I'm probably not gonna.

From what I've experienced and heard, this can be quite easy with training.
While you're trying to sleep, focus your mind on being able to lucid dream - dreams that are not only usually vivid, but also usually within your control; you're also aware they are a dream.
More often than not, focusing on having lucid dreams will in fact, give you lucid dreams. Have fun with the results.
...Just don't think about waking up when in one. You will. It's a downside to the "dreamscape dictator" role you assume.

Indeed, lucid dreams are a mixed blessing... often making you wake up right at the best moments, despite you telling yourself not to.
If there is a God, it's clear he has a very evil sense of humor.

I think we habitually post our pop culture crap here, and that thread is relatively new it just needs a little time and love also it's been a pretty slow couple of months in the entertainment industry so nothing really buzz worthy to talk about.
