You could try sending an email to Universal Music Group and ask them if WMG owns the right to your video.

Yeah, but I doubt they'd answer it, and even if they did what would I do afterwards?

Also, I thought that the DMCA didn't apply to me since I'm in Canada. ;)

Question: On YouTube, I've seen WMG (Warner Music Group) pull down Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers videos from the time that they were with MCA. How is this possible?

Youtube has a list of all copyrighted videos, and they have a list of who is allowed to post them.

Whoever currently owns the copyright for those songs can request to have them taken down using a DMCA. It doesn't matter if you're in Canada, YouTube is located in the US and thus subject to the DMCA.

There's pretty much nothing you can do. Continuing to put copyrighted videos up may result in your account getting suspended. If you do send that email and find out that WMG does not own the copyright, you can probably forward the info to youtube, unless you want a legal battle yourself.

No. But it applies to Youtube if you post videos there.

As for who owns the copyright, it can be complicated. The ownership may have transferred and licensed back or maybe Petty owns it for some reason. It could be that they have an agreement and working together. Anyone can submit a claim to YouTube that a video violates copyright, they just can't start a legal action without owning it.

Exactly, and it doesnt even have to be a valid claim. If YouTube doesnt take down the content, they can still be held liable, even if the person claiming copyright does not in fact own it.

One of the biggest problems with the DMCA imho.

Yeah. Also, I think they can get your private information that way too.
For Aimee, only what she provides YouTube. Her ISP is not legally allowed to give any information out, even for potential copyright infringement.

How about sampling different military marches/old anthems? For example, the anthem of the Russian empire could fit the mould. Although almost all real world stuff is lighter in tone than the Imperial March

Nonononono.

I want to see the flag of my made up nation in place of the flag of the video, and my made up nation's national anthem in place of the imperial march.

I already have a song picked out, and I already made a flag for the made up nation. I just want to see my flag in the same awesome moving flag graphic as in the video.

Ah, I see. Can you contact the feller who made the video via youtube?

and French people are just gay Germans:p

You forgot to mention that they're radioactive monkeys. :p

I should have elaborated: Ask him for pointers. I don't think that it would require much beyond a few lines of advice, including the program used.
