Alcohol (ethanol at least), in a quick summary, literally makes you pee more (volume wise).

Remembering back to high school biology, it either inhibits the secretion or function (both effectively the same thing) of antidiuretic hormone (ADH). ADH causes the kidneys to retain more fluid (I believe it promotes reabsorbtion) and send it back to the body rather than have it released to the bladder and excreeted via urination.
Effectively it means that water that would have went back into your body is turned into urine (even it you don't release it, it still isn't available for other parts of your body that needs it).

^ Coffee does the same thing. So, trying to sober up by drinking coffee is only going to dehydrate you even more.

Back to kill Hitler but somehow in the wrong city, no doubt.
Actually, to spice it up, he might be a German time traveler out to kill Churchill, with the code name "Eagle".

Unfortunately a friend came up with a good idea- British schoolboy.

Other friends came up with 'Rudolph Hess or Oswold Mosely'

One of my Petty articles refers to a "bosom-shaped birthday cake" (for one of the members of the band, not Petty himself). What does this mean? I asked somebody else and she said that it meant that the member of the band was a misogynist, and I know what that means.

It means Tom Petty has thrown his lot in with the Israelis

I'm going to see the late showing of Kickass tonight and was wondering if anything was supposed to happen after the credits, has anything been reported?

Well I read a (supposedly) true story in a book that one time, in 1986, TPATH were on tour with Bob Dylan, and the tour went to Israel. And, apparently, Petty threw a tantrum because they were in a kosher hotel and Petty couldn't have bacon and eggs. :crazyeye: And at least two of the Heartbreakers (well, ex-Breakers) were Jewish.

Indeed, i am right.

He had a cake shaped like female breasts. Your friend said he was a misogynist (aka, woman-hater) because because it suggests that he objectifies the female form, appreciating it, and presumably its owner (the girl), as an object of beauty, and not as an actual person. Its a very far-reaching assumption, and your friend should not have called him a misogynist because of it. Chauvinist pig would be more appropriate.

Me? I just think its funny. Boobie cake!

Rudolph Hess would be good if you could get hold of a parachute, especially if you got a mate to dress as a Scottish farmer. :p

So does anyone know of a software that will allow me to control how strong my fan spins?

I don't know about the fan-brand. It's Intel Centrino Duo. I don't know about the motherboard.

It's a Toshiba Satellite a500.

Well, this has been quite a read... :crazyeye: I've laughed, frowned, found topics that just might make their own thread if expanded, seen some post juxtapositions I found hilarious, like these two:

Are the Delta Trianguli stars (real system, btw) destined to ultimately collide due to their close proximity?
They retain moisture, and over time get kind of stinky. That and they're not really wash and wear, being made of wool usually.

Off the top of anyone's head, can a student get out of sex education in Germany due to religious reasons? According to an uncited wikipedia,

"In Germany, high school students are not excused from classes on sexual education and evolution theory on the basis of religion."

Also, what other countries disallow this- I'm interested in Western countries (Canada, Europe, and I guess Russia). I'm not concered with evolution so much as strictly sex ed in public schools.
In Canada, it depends on which province/territory you're talking about. My own province, Alberta, passed a law that says parents can pull their kids out of sex education classes and science classes that talk about evolution - if such teaching violates the parents' personal beliefs. How's THAT for backwards education? Why don't those parents just send their kids to a Catholic school, a private religious school, or home-school them? :gripe:
How many girls are on CFC? Just wandering like how many % of people aren't boys, I'm guessing like 3%.
Chieftess, Bast, Aimee, Lucy, Valka and Diana are the only female posters I've seen post here whose names I remember. I remember when I was still a noob, there was one poster who was/is the girlfriend of another poster (she vehemently said "yes, I'm his girlfriend").

Forgive me if I've forgotten about anyone.
Mathilda, Counterclaw, Golden Touch

aimeeandbeatles, Renata, RRRaskolnicov are gurlz, too.
Adria, too, I believe... there may be others, but they don't let anybody know they're female because they don't want to be teased.

Why is the Arts & Entertainment thread so inactive?

I find it hard to believe people have stronger opinions about current affairs (Which is what most OT threads concern) than popular culture.
Arts maybe so dead because it is a bit of an intellectual arts and entertainment currently rather than a "what did you watch on tv last night" arts and entertainment. OT you rarely have to think when you post.
... to date, all women I've met are completely politically inept, prone to emotional responses rather than logic and data.

My favorites? My sister and cousin saying, "Taxes are stupid" one night at dinner. I facepalmed, and then I explained that all the luxuries they receive - including schooling and use of the roads - are paid for by those stupid taxes, and they still defend their position by saying they didn't need to use the roads and schools and such... :crazyeye:
I think we habitually post our pop culture crap here, and that thread is relatively new it just needs a little time and love also it's been a pretty slow couple of months in the entertainment industry so nothing really buzz worthy to talk about.
To address the various points in these posts:

Arts & Entertainment is a new forum and is still finding its "place" here - what tone it will have, how strict or lenient the moderating will be, what kinds of topics are best suited... I do have plans to introduce some new kinds of activities that I haven't seen here at CFC before, but want to wait until people get used to having the forum, and to give myself time to figure out how best to introduce these new ideas. But you're right in thinking that some of the pop culture threads are best left in OT - ie. the Babe/Hunk threads, for example. When the new TV season starts in the fall I expect that there might be some renewed interest in "what did you watch on TV last night" kinds of topics.

@Taniciusfox: I do hope you're not referring to any women you encounter here - most of the women I've interacted with on CFC are quite politically "ept."

Greenland. The Bahamas is 10% white, but I think their census is rather "a touch of the tar brush" as to what constitutes white.
Greenland is administered by Denmark, I believe, and last I saw in an atlas, Denmark is part of Europe. ;)
