The Soda Pop Thread

lol at North Carolina.

I should go back to calling it coke just to piss a lot of people off. Although judging by the map, my county is yellow, so apparently I should have been calling it soda. But I never was one to be "normal" and follow the crowd.

I can't think of anything more mainstream than sugar, except maybe tap water.

Yet combined, alone, it's not a very good drink.

While I usually just settle for good ol' Coke or RC or Sprite, there's a place around here called the Louisburg Cider Mill that has the flat out best root beer, cream soda, and sarsaparilla known to man (IMHO.)

I drink Sunset Sarsaparilla. :D

They still make Tab?

The only one that I drink regularly is Dr Pepper, and that maybe once a week or less. In Britain I think there are only the big name brands or supermarket ones, but there are a few local brands like Irn Bru (the drink of Scotland) and Vimto.

Here the term for those kinds of drink are just "fizzy drinks", but if you want one you normally just say the brand of the drink, or the flavour. If it's a Cola style flavour you just call it a coke, but if it's a fruit flavour you say the name of the fruit and add "ade" to the end, so a lemon fizzy drink becomes lemonade, an orange one orangeade, a cherry one cherryade, and so on.

Yes, Tab is still made. I don't know where to get it though, I haven't seen it in a store in years.

IT seems mandatory to include this now...

Lou: You gonna order something, kid?

Marty McFly: Ah, yeah... Give me - Give me a Tab.

Lou: Tab? I can't give you a tab unless you order something.

Marty McFly: All right, give me a Pepsi Free.

Lou: You want a Pepsi, PAL, you're gonna pay for it.

The all time champion in my house?
guarana-antarctica-soda

straight out of the motherland. Buying this was a special treat growing up, because only one store in 100 miles sold it. I've had much better luck finding Brazilian pop here in Chicago. It's like a fruity ginger ale, but better!

There's a better, sweeter version of that, but it's only in Brazil.

My all-time favorite drink, Mineirinho, is unfortunately only found in my home state:

Soda hipsters are just like any other kind of hipster. My favorite soda is some obscure Botswanan ginger ale, you've probably never heard of it.

My real answer is probably Coca-Cola Classic.
