If you plan to shower at the gym (you mentioned a towel), you want flip-flops as well, to avoid nasty fungi.
 
I thought the Babes thread was where one objectifies women?

I did not consider this, thanks! I guess I'll also need something to wipe my disgusting sweat off the machines with..
 
I have a friend who does lifts and squats and is obsessed with all that stuff. He's been trying to get me to join his gym, but it costs like $80+ a month or something like that.. or more? He comes over and tells me that he did 20 400 pound quadruple sow-cow squat reps, and I never have any idea what he's talking about. I tried asking him about gym life and what he recommends for what I want - but he keeps wanting me to do exercises to improve my strength.. but I don't want that - I am just interested in lasting longer and being generally more fit. Anyway, thanks for y'all help, we'll see how this thing goes (tomorrow or Friday)
I had the same issue last year. I wanted to get fitter. So I've started a "program".
Every morning, I do 4 series of push up, and 4 series of crunches. Cost of equipement: around 0. Gym fee: a little less than the equipment.
Since between series is what I dislike when going to gym, I try to optimize.
- Wake up, first serie
- Go for morning nature call, drink some water, second serie
- Shave, third serie
- Go wake the kids, open windows, make bed, fourth serie
- Shower
- Breakfast.

The only investment is to wake up 15 minutes sooner than before so I'm ready to eat breakfast at the time as my wife and children.

When I started, I had difficulties making series of 10. Now, I'm making series of 30.

As a complement, I'm fortunate that at work, with a room with some mats. So at lunch break, I spent half an hour there, doing stretching and flexibility exercice, mixed with some more push-ups and crunches, and I finish with ukemi (martial art fall, forward and backward), and sometimes I reharse some of the techniques, but alone it's not very efficient.

And to finish, I go twice a week for 2-hours Aikido training.

I now feel much better. It doesn't cost, it doesn't take that much time: it just require commitment and will.

Who says you can't drink from them?

And they double as washbasins for your feet, too!
 
I've been missing out, apparently. Maybe some sandalwood and lavender... Nah.... No scenting. I always think scenting is a good idea until you hit that magical moment when you realize that now it just smells like somebody has been *****ing pine trees in there.
 
It can also give you a special Perk. Iron Stomach: charisma -1, resistance to poison +30%
 
They don't like you drinking under them.
