Is Wine capable of running everything that Windows can? I'm confused because the only reason I can see for using Windows is its compatibility with nearly everything.

No. It is pretty good general desktop apps, but will not run everything.

Not great I think. I have not tried (with games), but as I understand it it does not have all the libraries available, and most modern games will use at least one that is not present. I think it depends how good you are at setting it up, I did not have a patience to get any good and just went for dual boot.
 
It depends on the game. Hey, I can run Gta III and Vice City, as well as the two first Fallouts, among others. I think I can get Civ III to work.
 
Yeah but you can run those with 2010 integrated graphics.
 
Takhisis refuses to accept any technology that was invented post civ3.
 
And he is actively angry at the technology that allows it.
