In whom I trust
Makes sense as most of these countrie's populations are made up of Caucasian descendents of European settlers.
But the US is not a majority white nation.

Or have a bad judgement? Most people can't tell the difference between honest journalism and blatant propaganda.

Ok, I give up.
Will someone explain to me why Americans call "White people" Caucasian?
What sort of insanity is that, pray tell?
Unless you believe that the term "Caucasian" refers to people from the Caucasus region of the world, I honestly don't see much problem with it.
Unless you very much prefer "white" people. Or "black", or "yellow".
Erm, yes? You might be using the wrong media. What, there's a difference these days?
It has to do with how they initially got to Europe, way back when, when they apparently emigrated from the India area...Ok, I give up.

What else should it mean?
At least these terms are not based on scientific-racism theories of the 19th century
I don't have an issue with "white" and "black". Yellow on the other hand seems weird - I've never met an Asian whose skin would appear yellow to me. So, why don't you simply say "white/European", "black/African", and "(East) Asian" for the three main racial archetypes?
No, the problem isn't that they're using it to describe white people when it's meant for people of the Caucasus. The term Caucasian is always used to describe everyone who is not asian, black, or indigenous groups. But it is used to describe only whites.
Here is a map of indigenous caucasian people:

Why they are even called Caucasian to start with? I'd like to know the answer too.
hahahahahahawhatTo be modern is to be Western. These nations looked to the West to learn how to modernize. They modeled their political and economic systems after western countries, as well as their militaries.

The United States National Library of Medicine has used the term "Caucasian" as a race in the past, but has discontinued its usage in favor of the term "European".
hahahahahahawhat
Can you define how they are Western? The Asian tigers and Japan?
Can you define how they are Western?
Well for Japan, it's stated policy was "leaving Asia" and "joining the west" going back to the 1880s.
They studied the political, economic and military systems of the west, chose the ones they most wanted to emulate, and imported thousands of "foreign experts" to help with the reforms.
I think Japan was more leaving their feudal society than "leaving Asia". Like China and Korea they seem to have been very pragmatic on what needed to change and what would obviously remain the same in terms of culture and religion. I wouldn't say that makes them any more western than lets say; China, Nigeria or United Arab Emirates.
