TIL: Today I Learned

They're even referenced in "Coming to America". A movie that I always seem to stop on when surfing.

Occasionally when they're on sale I get some Pillsbury Weiner Wraps. Unfortunately half the time they either come out undercooked (in which case they're just gooey dough) or overcooked (in which case they become rocks).

As Samson points out, if you put your meat in pastry, that's a sausage roll. Little sausages wrapped in bacon are pigs in blankets, best served as hors d'oeuvres at parties that are trying to be swanky. :)

Googling it says otherwise. But then it's not really worth arguing about.

A) Wikipedia says this: "Geography also dominates the form of the 'blanket' with bacon being the most common choice in the United Kingdom."
B) The article that started this diversion was from the BBC, so it's the bacon goodness that should carry the day here. :)

While it's hard to argue the goodness that is bacon, The geography here leads to a different domination when it comes to the wrapping.

FTW

Wrap the sausage with another sausage and wrap that in bacon and pastry and wrap it in another sausage.

Or just go get some chicken nuggets instead.

I also learned people still remember me from the vintage era of spam. :D
And IIRC, you were the first to reach 20,000 posts.
He should be awarded a medal for this.
This is a stupid fight. Just wrap the bacon around the pastry around the sausage.
Nooooo. Wrap bacon around a sausage, then wrap it in pastry, bake it, and if done properly the pastry's now swollen and leaves some space into which you can pour the condiment of your choice.

Too barbaric. Just have a dip bowl.

I think all this talk of inserting meat into other things could be misconstrued.

I think you mean ‘should’. Especially the part about Synsensa dipping his meat somewhere.

He got this instead;

That was April 2005 I think.

As a dedicated purveyor of intellectual media and only the most highest of brow content, you should know after watching the Han & Luke scene with the tauntaun that it can be very snug indeed while having another creature wrapped around you.
There's a comic strip called Heart of the City, in which one of the characters retold this story from the tauntaun's point of view.

By the time this storyline was over, I really hated Han and Luke and was crying over the tauntaun's death (along with lots of other readers).

Splendid stuff...Reminds me of great times on this forum, Birdjaguar.

PS
I look at my anti-religious stuff back then, and laugh...So much salt from me.
These days I am cool with spiritualism, in fact, I see it as somewhat essential.
The destructive cults masquerading as the word of gods still get my scoffs, however.

:)
