Two bomb blasts during the Boston Marathon

Apparently one of the bombers was an undergrad at the University with which my school is associated. They just issued a campus-wide evacuation.

Yeah, I should be fine. I live several towns over from campus. However, the fact that they want to evac some 4,000 on campus resident students is worrisome. I doubt they would take that step lightly.

That's good. I hope the evacuation ends up being excessive caution.

EDIT: I just keep worrying that this is going to get a lot worse. We have what, 4 dead so far? A hundred or so injuries? That's getting off pretty light for a terror attack if I'm brutally honest. I keep worrying that we're seconds away from some way, some how having like 1,000 dead.

WBUR reported this as a valid report from the police. However, keep in mind that information is changing very rapidly and the news can't necessarily keep up.

Boston is in lockdown, generally. No mass transit, no taxis, and people are supposed to stay home or where they presently are. This creates a huge problem for people flying into Logan airport as those folks can't get anywhere.

Hospitals are not releasing people nor are they admitting new patients unless they come in via emergency vehciles. Doctors and other staff members are apparently being turned away as well when reporting for work (which seems really weird. I would take that with a grain of salt. Might be just a transportation issue.)

calm down. they're gonna find him and shoot him and spin the story their way with both culprits dead.

the reason they react with all those evacuations and basically shutting down boston is this is a highly political case and police are simply cutting down on their margin of error in the most radical way.

I don't think freedom fighters usually bomb marathons. I think they generally fight for freedom.
