Two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff.

Ba-dum psshh!

Hey, there's a lame jokes thread for that.

Here it is.
But those lame jokes are nowhere near as lame as this lame joke! The sheer lameness of this joke deserves its own thread. It's so lame, it even recurses. It's a lame meta-joke.

This joke is physically impossible. They'd all hit the floor at the same time (ignoring air resistance, of course).

I think air resistance can be inferred as the normal case. Otherwise, the joke would be "two drums and a cymbal roll off a cliff in a vacuum...", which has an entirely different punchline.

Well it depends how the cymbal falls. It could hit the ground first! In which case the punch line would really suck.

No, they fell off a cliff in a vacuum, so they produced no sound.

More accurately, they made no sound that was conveyed through the non-existent air. Of course, they produced some sound waves that were conducted through the surface upon which they landed, and if by chance some sound pick-up device was attached to this surface, then they produce a sound. But if no one was there to hear it, then....well, you know.

you guys forget that the two drums and the cymbal may have not start they fall at the same time...

If properly done, this joke is possible...
