UK CFC Meet up?

The next problem is meeting up: where, and when?
I can get to London Paddington on a "cheap" (£16  ) day return train ticket from my house.

Saturday 17th December, Tottenham Court Road, at some unnamed family run coffee house at 11am.

I thought that was already decided?

.

Bloody 'ell....11 AM?
So we all making our own ways there? To this unnamed coffee house?

I'm confused, and demand an easy-to-read synopsis!

I reckon if we made a chart or something with everyone going and then put their locations and detials on it as well, it will be easier to sort how people are getting down and other details...

I would be happy to make it if I need to :).

An easy-to-read synopisis was posted earlier in the thread:

Date: Saturday 17th December 2005
Place: London
Itinerary:
Morning:
Starbucks near Tottenham Ct Rd
Oxford St -> Oxford Circus (shops)
Regent St (Apple Shop & Hamleys in particular)
Picadilly Circus (and surrounding monopoly board properties)
Lunchtime:
Lunch.
Afternoon:
Bus -> South Kensington
Museums (Natural History, Science or Victoria and Albert.)
Dinner-time:
Dinner.
Evening:
Pub? Dunno.

If anyone (other than Davo, who is far too punk rock for Starbucks :p ) has a problem with this list then please say so! Between then and now has mostly been spam, which is all well and good, but then people miss important posts (like mine :p)

We are making our own way to the (named and branded) coffee shop, aiming to meet there for around 11 a.m. Saturday 17th Dec.

Can Rambuchan please edit the opening post to reflect this plan, who is definately going, and who needs to confirm whether they are going or not?

EDIT: That's a good idea Lozzy Ozzy

Right. Hmm, Tottenham Road.
Being a dumbass, I'll have to fiund my way from Paddington to there.
Would circulating our mobile numbers be an idea?

Bus or tube would be good ;) Tottenham Court Road is a fairly central location, so it will be easy to get to.

It depends on how many people will be coming for definate, so perhaps nearer the time we can sort this out.

Okay, I've had a dekko at the possibilities.

I really want to come by train (my village is on the main line+no traffic jams+it's about a tenner cheaper) and I'll arrive at Paddington, I expect (what time should I have to leave? About 8?)
From there, I can take the Tube to Notting Hill, and change to the Central, and go down to Tottenham Crt. Rd. :)

Right, i'll try and do that later, but i've got to start soon, and it'll take a while to sift through all of these pages.

Any idea what other information I should bung on there?

Yeah!:yeah:

@noncom - when you get into paddington, go get a tube map from next to the ticket booths (down the elavtor!!)
Also, I think train tickets are normally a bit more expensibe before 9am, so you might not want to leave before then. Of course, I mgiht be wrong so you should check this:)

Just to make clear my plan, basically i'm gonna go to Mise and feline-dacat's on the friday and follow them. So don't worry bout me!:D

Oh, just to add, in regards to this bit...

Bus -> South Kensington
we should make that tube, that way the people who get into Paddinton on saturday can just buy an all day tube ticket (we can work out what zones in a bit) and thus save money.

If the train you catch from oxford stops at Ealing Broadway it might be worth getting off and switching to the Central line there rather than buggering about with multiple changes.

I dunno; if it's afore that's a good idea (though I'm not actually in Oxford, I'm in Radley), but I'll check it out, cheers :)

Oh crikey, I forgot to do that chart again, and i'm going soon.

Sorry guys .

And I dunno, if I went I don't think my hair would be allowed into any clubs or anything :p.

I don't think clubs are part of the plan for the 'official' meet. Anyways, the sort of clubs i'm into don't give a damn what you look like.

Leave your hair with the bouncers! :p  :D

You coming along Sophie 378? Might be worth actually doing this then :p

[Realistic mode]

I doubt I'll be able to arrive particularly early, will have rugby no doubt as it is a Saturday. But if there is a significant number doing all-night drinking/talking/gaming whatever then hells bells I'll make the effort and drive down.

You can't get a cheap day ticket before 10am on weekdays. If you travel on a Saturday it will cost minimum price. Anyone travelling a long way: if you book early you can make massive savings (like a £60 ticket for £20).

Anyway, note made in diary. Sat 17th Dec. np.:)

I would request two things on our excursion....
1. Is there a better place for coffee than Starbucks? Maybe as a meet up place but how about something more....London?
2. I know Feline is sweet on Haagen Dazs but I need to watch my figure. :D So meet me at the pub for beverage consumption/resumption.
