To fill empty spaces in unit lists I suggest such changes for Imperium and Chaos:

Imperial Guard

Starting- Guardsman
Infantry- Shock Trooper
Support- Lascannon
Promethium - Hellhound
Fast Attack- Banewolf

Witch Hunters

Mobility- Seraphim
Mobile Infantry- Inquisitorial Chimera
Assault Infantry- Dominion
Fast Attack- Repressor

Flight - Lightning Strike Fighter

Daemon Hunters

Tactics- Psycannon
Mobile Infantry- Inquisitorial Chimera
Support- Psilencer
Heavy Support- Assault(?) Dread Knight

Flight - Lightning Strike Fighter

Space Marines

Promethieum - Heavy Flamer
Flight - Landspeeder

Flight - Stormtalon

Chaos

Promethieum - Chaos Flamer
Fast Attack- Defiler
Flight - Fury
Field Artillery- Forge Fiend

For ork I suggest to move Gun Trukk to generic field artillery and give Lobba to Wild Orks.
 
After a little over a week with Easter holidays in the middle? Don't worry, you're not being ignored. Modders have lives.
 
I think the original unit lines made by goldflash were based more on what units were available at the time, so since no one had made a space marine w/ flamer, he didnt bother adding it in.

My thoughts

To fill empty spaces in unit lists I suggest such changes for Imperium and Chaos:

Imperial Guard

Starting- Guardsman i'd prefer leaving it as is, with conscript here and guardsman at Infantry
Infantry- Shock Trooper the kaskin stormtroopers are at Elite Infantry
Support- Lascannon since the lascannon is an anti-tank weapon, i think Heavy Support would be a better place for it
Promethium - Hellhound i was thinking guardsman w/ flamer, but could maybe have both
Fast Attack- Banewolf depends on whether someone can make it. vehicles aren't my strong suit atm but im working on it :)

Witch Hunters

Mobility- Seraphim they are supposed to be elite troops, so i'd rather not have them in the first era
Mobile Infantry- Inquisitorial Chimera generic Chimera is already here, is there a difference between a generic and an inquisitorial?
Assault Infantry- Dominion would these be ok at Mobility?
Fast Attack- Repressor good idea

Flight - Lightning Strike Fighter currently have the thunderbolt fighter, but im looking at rejigging the aircraft portion of the lists

Daemon Hunter

Tactics- Psycannon already added but had psycannon and psilencer around the other way
Mobile Infantry- Inquisitorial Chimera see above
Support- Psilencer see psycannon
Heavy Support- Assault(?) Dread Knight initially i liked this, but dreadknights are supposed to be pretty rare, so having two kinds of dreadknights might be a bit much. i'll need to think about it some more...

Flight - Lightning Strike Fighter see above

Space Marines

Promethieum - Heavy Flamer good
Flight - Landspeeder i'd leave this at fast attack, since the stormtalon will be at flight

Flight - Stormtalon do you see this as a civ aircraft (can only perform air missions, cannot move around the map) or an "aircraft" that is actually a foot unit (ignores terrain, all terrain as roads, etc)

Chaos

Promethieum - Chaos Flamer see above
Fast Attack- Defiler
Flight - Fury
Field Artillery- Forge Fiend

i have some ideas for chaos in general, so i'll get back to you on this when i get my thoughts together

For ork I suggest to move Gun Trukk to generic field artillery and give Lobba to Wild Orks. gun trukks are not part of the main ork codex (the current one at least) and i think they are much more likely to be used by evil sunz then anyone else. besides, the death skullz and blood axes use looted basilisks anyway so its only the snakebites, goffs and bad moonz that will have lobbas

I agree in general. We should also think about units usefulness. There are a few units that upgrades or options to anything.

The fact is that imperial troops are weeker than inquisitorial. Since mobile infantry is fast variant of basic infantry, inquisitorial variant should be more powerful. We can even use the same model for both variants. Only stats will differ.

Just do not think it will makes sence in Civ)) Player can spawn 1000 Dreadknights if he wishes)) But Grey Knights do not have much vechilces (at least I could not find much). We also can move orbital bombardment to field and arco-flagellant to siege of Grey Knights.

Lobba is just to "wild" in my opinion to be used by standart orks. But, I guess, there is no other way.

I'm trying myself at unit-maken. I hope I can make at least some placeholders when I learn more. So could you please tell me what units are you worknig at the moment or going to make. So I will not touch them?
 
WIP shots of the soul grinder. Any comments/suggestions? I'm looking at improving the flesh texture and see if i can chaos-up the sword a bit

Soul Grinders can come in a number of colors and shapes, so what you do is up to you. Personly I prefer them blue, but whatever color you end up with is fine by me.

I think the head you chose make it look a bit like a Skaven unit. If you can find a head that's more demon-esque or monster-like that would be great, but I understand you are probably limited by what's available to use?

The sword look pretty good to me already. As does the rest! :)
 
Yeah, i'm using one of kinboat's trolloc heads with the ears removed. below is a comparison shot with a gw soulgrinder: i've added horns, some piping and a few more fangs to the top of the mouth to try and make it more daemonic. Need to find a way to beef him up too

I can easily do multiple versions of it: one like this (red w/ civ colour on chassis), blue (blue w/ civ colour on chassis), and civ colour (civ coloured body w/ grey chassis). It'll just take a while to render.

At the moment i'm using three defiler models, two pdms and a trolloc head, plus all the fangs are props and there are quite a few of them :crazyeye:

The improvements you made to the head are awesome.

Multiple version would be great. :)

Bugger me, I hate being right :p

Took ~48 hrs to render the first version of the Soulgrinder. The only reason I'm not 100% sure is that for most of the renders I left it going while I went to bed or work.

I'll have a preview up soon
