Unit requests thread

Once again you've went out of your way for one of my requests, you're the best! :goodjob: Greatly appreciated! I tested the unit out ingame and it works just like it should.

My only one tiny issue though, is that our Soviet marine seems to have gained quite the beer gut since he got his fancy new nif. Is that something that would be simple to correct?
Oha, did not notice that, but that explains some strange naming in the nif. Anyhow, here is a modified mesh with a fitter look. ;)

Perfect! Thanks again! :)

I'd kindly request an Inuit scout; with which I mostly mean a 'qamutik':
The dog sledge Inuit use. 1 Wolf/Dog with one Inuit man would be great already ;)
If you have the time and will to make it elaborate, I'd request 4 dogs/wolves (I really think it'd be a good idea to use the wolf graphic that's already in Civ as huskies) dragging a sledge with 1 Inuit man or a family (what'd mean at least 1 man, woman and child, because those civilization units are metaphors already anyway).

So I suppose the wolf graphics would be a good start for the dog(s), and then take a catapult as a base for the sledge?
A better base for the sledge would be this unit I think:

OR
http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=11288

Then if you dig a little in this mod:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=20149
- You can find a good Inuit Archer, Axeman, Spearman and Javelineer. The archer and the spearman are the best units to put on the sledge, because their clothing is the best-done for these units.

(More like the one on the Right)

Could someone make some sort of medieval/heavy/elite skirmisher/spear thrower? Basically a Medieval Era Skirmisher that has heavier armor than say a Classical Era Skirmisher.

Thanks in advance! :goodjob:

Can someone make me an early Napoleonic Austrian musketman?

Spoiler :

Yeah, I wanted the one with the Helmet, not the Shako.

Also, I actually found an Austrian with the Helmet: it's in VD, but it's a Rifleman.

In the meantime, can you please make a Mysorean Rocketeer unit for me?

I am attempting yet another return to Civ modding. But I don't want to get everybody's hopes up so I won't confirm it. I would like to request a unit though. I want to use an Elephant-Cannon unit as the Mughal UU for my mod. So I'd like to get the Late War Elephant from Bakuel's Indian War Elephant set as the Elephant, the Blue Mughal Gunner to be the rider from Bakuel's Mughal Renaissance set, and finally for the base animations use Embrydead's Mughal Siege Elephant.

I hope this is not only possible (and hopefully easy to do for someone with the talent), but would also be useful for many others. Thanks in advance. :goodjob:

Good to see that you are still around. :)

Hey everyone. (Hi SaibotLieh!)

I have found some time to once again do some more work on the Pictish civ mod... I could do with some help with a worker unit if anyone is up to the task, and if my idea is even possible... I want to create a modern Pictish/Scottish worker. I think it might be quite simple.

Firstly, I have seen some units where someone has taken the head of the Buddhist monk unit (shaved head) and put it on the body of a Marine/Paratrooper unit. I would like to do something similar, but by putting the head on the standard ancient worker Unit.

Then... if possible, I want to take the hat from the great engineer and put it on the head (buddhist monk head) of the worker. Thats it. I can do all the rest. I have attached a clip of my ancient Pictish worker so far, and a photo to give an idea what I would create for the modern worker.

If it is too difficult to do the buddhist monk shaved head, I can upload the Pictish worker and the Engineer hat could just go on his head instead.

If anyone can assist, it is much appreciated. :)

good to see you back! I still look forward to the release :)

RE: the Pictish Modern worker...

Just had a thought... if easier, it could be that the whole head (and helmet) of the engineer are placed on the body of the ancient worker... if it helps?

Hi J_mie6!

I have decided that as this is taking so much longer than I originally thought, as soon as I can finish the ancient units so their look is standardised across all ancient units, I will upload the Pictish swordsmaster for you to use along with the finished Drest leaderhead.

If it helps, I have attached the ancient worker model I am using for the first Pictish worker. The head and helmet would go onto this model...

Nice to hear from you again as well. :)

Here is the requested worker model. I had to modify the worker_128.dds a bit, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Ahhh SaibotLieh! You are a STAR as usual :goodjob:. Thanks for that!! :D It was an unit idea long overdue. I will post a pic as soon as I finish re-skinning the model.

On another note I have a question for you. A while back we created the Pictish Swordsmaster together. While we were doing that we tried to make a Sword look a little more Pictish in origin by changing the standard Claymore of the Swordsman.

Since then I have found the perfect Pictish sword carried by the Boudicca Leaderhead in Civ5. I was excited to see her wielding an actual Pictish sword and I wondered if it would be possible to take the sword and use it in Civ4 Units and Leaderheads. What do you think?

I am aware that the two systems may use different 3D modelling, however, my hopes where up when I saw you have had a lot of success converting 3D models from other games to create your Civ4 leaderheads. Here is a pic of the Sword.

Here are the screen shots for the Pictish/ Scottish ModernWorker I finished skinning.

Thanks again, I am very happy with them :goodjob:. They will be in the eventual release of the Pictish Mod.

Thanks again! You always come through. To be honest I probably won't be able to test this unit for another couple of weeks, and that will be when I plug it into the Mughal civ. So I might have to come back to you, but that is doubtful considering your capabilities. :goodjob:
