And while we are at it, why not have motorised settlers for the later ages. Somehow a family with a dog just does not fit in the era of trains and trucks.
But here's an idea... how about custom dog graphics for each civ? That way, England and America could have Golden Retrievers, France a poodle, Germany a German Shepherd, Canada a Labrador, The Inuits a husky and so on.
You mean you are still using settlers in the industrial/modern era? In most of my games on a standard map of Wolfshanze almost all my cities are in place by the Middle Ages and I am speeding up the Tech Tree to Gunships by 1800s. Therefore nice idea but I don't really build settlers or explorers by the time I get to that stage. I'm too busy building up my tech lead to crush the other rulers...
Is there an animated mi-24 out there? really need it....i dont mean the rotating blades, but the up and down from the ah-64 model!!!!!hopefully
anyone has an idea or offers help..
cheers NuDDen

There is indeed:
Nautil made it. Search Nautil's Air units mod.

There: I found the link for you. There's A LOT of air units there, including the Mi-24.
Many thanks...but that is the mi-24 animated in the way i already have...i mean it looks like the model stands in the air with rotating blades.
My question was: is there a model of the mi-24 that hover above the ground like the firaxis gunship or the eurocopter or the ah-64 model?

I think if you changed the domain to land you will achieve this. Although it won't work like a regular air unit. Although I could be misunderstanding what you are looking for, if that is the case sorry.
You could also use settlers then, if you raze enemies cities to place new ones on places you want. I think, modern settlers won't be that wrong.
iam sorry iam not english and cant explain it better...i give it another try: the mi-24 looks like not moving in the air (exept the rotor blades). Iam looking for a model THAT moves in the air. IS there a model of the mi-24 with such specifications out there?
