Unit requests thread

Has someone ever made a rifleman unit with the grenadier's body and the default rifleman's head?

Cool, that worked, but I still can't seem to decapitate the texture from the rifleman. I tried with Blender, but things are getting to complicated for me. Sorry.
 
Could someone make a Nelson warlord unit? That would be awesome.

Here's a question for you: do you want the unit to be a ship or do you want it to be like a regular GG?

If it is the ship option I had a suggestion in the modcomp request thread that they make Great Admiral units as well, that have the same abilities as a GG except for naval units (so they make a naval academy, and become a Naval Commander citizen that gives XP to naval units).
 
It's nice, but it's too mid-18th cent. Anyway, a generic early nineteenth century general/marshal/admiral would be great!
 
Holy schnap, what a long forum. Uh, would anyone like to make unit graphics for Iron Man? With fitting combat animations, hovering, etc. Or has anyone already done that, or something like it?
 
I'm sorry, but is anyone working on my Caesar unit? Since I don't know how to make units I can only count on your skills and help...

I might second your request, but not as soon as you would. I've a full to-do-list and Caesar unit isn't a priority at the moment. If nobody else will do it, I'll send you a PM just before starting the work.
 
Hi, Im making a fantasy mod atm. and I have been flipping through the available elephants without finding anything really nice. The european one was decent, but the elephant had no armor what-so-ever.

The elephant should be heavily armored, almost so that it looks like a knight's horse in barding. It could even have fantasy'ish big shoulder paddings or spikes sticking out - it should just look fairly realistic though (not extremely oversized WoW armors!).

The elephant rider (or several riders??) should be pretty heavily armored as well. What weapon he has, is up to you.

No idea, if Chryso is still around, but the elephant in this civ should somehow fit, i think.

Well, here is the problem I meet :

I would like to change the head of some Sumer and Persia units ( from Bakuel packs )

Nothing extravagant ;) Tried to put the Sumer Explorer ( or Sumer Crossbowman ) and Ambrox62 Persia Warrior on the Sumer Swordsman ...

I tried for 3 days now and I still fail. In game, the heads look always weird.

I tried with different ways of course, but I'm always wrong.

Could someone help me and explain to me ? Thanks :)
 
If anybody knows how I could edit the missionary effect (when they spread or attempt to spread their religion) that would be helpful. I have nine religions I need to chagne the effect symbol for and I don't quite know how to do it. In fact when two of them "spread" their religion different music and symbols show up entirely. So if anyone can help me with this please PM me or respond here.

Open [religion]missionary_md_activate.kf with nifscope
Go to the bottom line NiTextKeyExtraData
Edit the Text keys in the Block Details window (you will find a SOUND and EFFECT define to search for through the XMLs)

What is strange is that the "node" I try to exchange is already an editable poly and even I try to keep the same structure, I fail :crazyeye:

I'm still trying to understand the ancestors and children stuff. I successed many times with other units ( changing head, guns, shields, adding or substract accessories ) but here, there is something obvious I'm missing for sure !!!

There's another thing though; I know you posted this unit in Avain's VD thread but either it is still buggy or I installed it wrong. So if you wanted to double-check it (I know you mentioned you didn't test it yourself) that would be great, just so I can figure out where the mistake was. I attached an image. Thanks.
 
@ cj; Bakuel's units are a :):):):):) to mess with, but I'm pretty sure (I could be wrong though) that you have to remove the Skin Instance from the part you want to copy first and then copy it.

EDIT: What? You can't say :):):):):) here? That's ridiculous, I can say shitload but not :):):):):)? Someone has a screen name called BlizzardOfShit and I can't say :):):):):)? :p
