Units From Wyrmshadow

As I hope you've noticed, I commissioned 3 units from Wyrmshadow which I know left friends like Ares de Borg lamenting.

So I'm doing it again. I expect this thread will rapidly become one large clusterf*ck, but here goes.

Round 1:

Post an AFV (tank, APC, etc.) unit you'd like to see. Second-and-third each other's notions. Note that the more obscure, the less likely. (In case of confusion, I reserve the right to decide which units seem the most needed/wanted.)

Round 2:

I'll narrow the bloodbath of Round 1 into a poll; the winners (and, depending upon Wyrm's time and available models) somewhere between 3 and 10 will likely be chosen.

- And please, read carefully. There was some confusion with the last creation: pestering Wyrm with requests will, I can all but guarantee you, be met with silence and/or derision. I am COMMISSIONING (i.e., paying good ol' $USD) to have them made. My free sharing of them is simply an ongoing statement of how much I believe in this Community (and, sorry, but anyone whom I feel is a Pillar of same will, shall we say, win any ties).

That´s great. Thank you for your generosity Oz and for your genius Wyrmshadow.

I vote for an up-to-date self propelled Artillery: The M-109 in the standard version of the sixties. So there exists an outdated version of the "Paladin", such a unit would close a big gap in the cold war landunits of the sixties.

A Hummel-SPA of WW 2 would also be nice and I would be glad with an up-to-date
PT-76 amphibious cold war tank. But as I can vote only one unit: The M-109 of 1962.

Wow, Oz, I don't know what to say. This is just really really nice of you, thank you.
Just a few words from a modder's perspective: There are some tanks we don't have at all or in insufficient quality (Ariete, Arjun, Type 90, T-90 - main battle tanks of Italy, India, Japan, Russia). There are other units who are out of scale and outdated (M113, T-60, T-72, Leopard). Russian tanks are a likely choice, because I could, with Wyrm's permission, quickly recolor these and make them fit for other countries (like it did with some of Wyrm's units before, for example the T-55).

I'm torn between the good old M-60 and the T-72 as a candidate to be re-done. Nearly all of the civs in my mod use one or the other at some time, since they have been two of the most common tanks in the cold war era...

I'll decide later, I guess. Thanks for this chance!

That is indeed grand - and grand news as well! The problem will be establishing which truely worthy AFV unit hasn't been completed by Wyrmshadow already... and his list is long- very, very long. It is very regal of the two of you to give this project a go

A quick addendum - Ares, for example, has done some great recolorings. Assuming Wyrm permits, the T90 MIGHT have an edge as it can be recolored for many nations. And assuming there are sufficient volunteers willing to recolor

Hum, no, those are Allied tanks. Also, The Churchill Crocodile was a Churchill tank in which the machine gun was replaced by a flamethrower with a +100 m range, and the fuel for the flamethrower was in a trailer towed by the tank. So it could fire both shells and flame bursts! It was used in the Normandy operations.

I heartily second this motion, if only for the reason that I feel absolute horrible that you're sacrificing your precious income for the community, and not receiving anything in return.

IIRC, Wyrmshadow himself has purchased many models himself, to make them for the CFC (and do w/e else with them), so do you all feel bad that Wyrm sacrificed his income as well? I don't think I have heard anyone ever say such.

I myself would be willing to give Wyrm some cold hard cash to make a unit (once I get a job again, thx to crap economy) if there was something I wanted and he was willing to do. After all, time is money...
