Unusual architecture

Coming soon to Miami:

@MaryKB Your glass house will be a reality!

That's probably going to equally ugly & expensive.

Hopefully it'll offer similar level of hospitality & cafe opportunities to people who can't stand to look at it as Eiffel Tower originally did.

Catalonian town buys labyrinthine Espai Corberó for €3m, to become public space

The house of Xavier Espai Corberó near Barcelona has a series of 12 patios linked by 300 arches.
Like a three-dimensional De Chirico painting or an Escher staircase to nowhere, the labyrinthine Espai Corberó near Barcelona defies architectural logic, being designed “without plans, obeying only space and poetry”.

Why would a 3d modeling of a De Chirico painting "defy architectural logic"?
I like the last pic, but don't really see any meaningful architectural similarity to De Chirico's famous early period. The space is empty, but that is hardly enough :)

PS: it doesn't have anything to do with Escher either, though tbh given this is 3d it would have been 'highly impressive' if it did...

I just saw this old photo I took of the Kotri Spi (White Pigeon) area of the Erbil bazaar where they fix mobile phones. I had forgotten how silly and ragged the statue looks, I think there’s another one that’s not as bad as this.

they like pigeons . Anyone would if your future country would have to rise over the ashes of 4 others . Two of them armed to teeth with anti-Semitic concerns . Two others being former superpowers with former global influence . Accordingly your PR needs that you love peace above all . Any seperatist rally here would have similar pigeons and stuff . Is that the sleeve of a military jacket ? Instead of paint peeling ? Even better ; peace is available only through military might with Uncle Barzani holding everything under tight control .

The true architectural wonder are the Pyramids - They are laser precise (to a micron ! which is 1e-6 m ! We cannot forgo that much of a precise cutting of matter - this means even a laser beam cannot poenetrate the distance between two stones, and this is flabbergasting , there are precisely the same feats of architechture in Mayan temples and other stuctures around the world yet "otrhodox" science still choose to ignore that !

Why would the Chinese hide the presence of Pyramids on their land ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_pyramids
The Tomb of Qin Shi Huang in Xian is an archaeological wonder. It is not being hidden at all. For now the government is focusing on the terra cotta army and surrounding areas. They want to make sure that when they open the tomb itself, they are prepared to preserve everything. They are being careful. What is your rush?

Your "laser precision" claims are just not true. It is the stonework of the Incas (not Mayans) that is exceptional for precision fits but even that has been shown to be replicable with simple tools.

There's also the problem of pressurized mercury. According to Sima Qian, the tomb contains a representation of the land with mercury used for the rivers. The soil around the tomb does have higher levels of mercury.

Is there any likelihood of this getting built?
200meters-wide is really stupid, imo. Why would anyone want to live in what in essence will be a progression of apartments on a line, maybe with a tiny corridor for a train or similar. It is supposed to host 9 million people, but I'd be surprised if even 9000 wish to live there.

I also read that this sci-fi dystopia will have a height of 500m (or maybe that is just two thin outer layers of mirrors), which I also find ridiculous and unworkable.

No, this sounds like a stupid megalomaniac plan, no chance.
I heard that one of the journalists that criticized the project was the one who was later dismembered - usually attributed to the Saudi royal family.
Also, that the project features a Musk-like hyperloop, which in this case is actually the least of its problems :P
