Hmm... Plotinus, how would I go about making a cylinder primitive as you said to make a sheild?

Yes, go to the Props library and look under Primitives. Then simply alter its shape and size, put it in the right position, parent it to his arm, and apply the image map. Be aware that, with primitives, each face of the object will have the bitmap applied to it. That shouldn't be a problem with a shield like this.

Hot dog! I like Diomedes just the way you have him, but if everybody else clamours for more armour or whatever, then please do "copy" the existing unit and call him something else.
But what's the deal, were these boys fighting in the full hoplite style at the time of the Trojan war? Methinks not. The traditional date for it is 1194-1184BC, whereas the traditional date for the overthrow of the monarchy in Athens is 683BC and the reforms in Sparta of a certain "Lykourgos"
date to about 650BC. So why should we expect our Diomedes dudes (and the like) to look like Classical citizen hoplites instead of aristocratic warrior kings of the Mycenean late bronze age? Just asking, you know how ignorant I am of things historical!

Aren`t there some "pottery images" or something from ancient Greece, showing stuff from the Illyad or something? Or something?

They were probably made later. After all, would you rather show your heros wearing what seemed like peasent clothing, or the most up-to-date modern armor?

Yes, they were made later, but I figure they knew what kind of armor people were wearing back then. Are there images from the Troy period? I don`t get the other sentence. Do you mean, if I was the guy who painted all that pottery, would I make a hero look like heros today or like a guy who runs around in his undies and a cape? Or do I wanna see Diomedes in some kevlar?

If you were the king, would you go to war with less than the best avialable gear? There are records of what other kings of this era wore... Even the oldest records show the kings all dolled up in some sort of armor.Virote_Considon said:

Would it work ok that if instead playing well full hoplite suits might not have been invented yet, why not find contemporaries anywhere and compare and then merge this with the later hoplite rather than just strip him semi-nude because you're uncertain?
The problem we're all having with this is this:
You named him after a king. You then give him less then the mediocre trappings of the most humble peasent warrior of his age.

Actually, "Diomedes" is changing quite a bit. I would be working on him now, but I'm around a freinds, who doesn't have poser. So now I'm working on the actual scenario.

OK. I've now altered their apperences somewhat:
Agamemnon:
Changes Made:
-Enlarged his beard
-Changed the colour of his shinguards to look more leather-like
-Changed the colour of all his armor to create a more "uniform" look
-Given him braces
-Given him a sword (attatched to his hip, atm, so it's a bit hard to see)
-Given him a new shield. The shield also has a spike on it.
-Given him two spikes for his helmet.
Diomedes:

-Given him a nose guard for his helmet
-Given him a shirt to wear
-Given him some shinguards.
I havn't seemed to change him as much as I thought I would. Any suggestions on how to improve further, or is he "good enough"?

-Taken cape away. Changed hair to normal long hair
-Given him Sea People's Armor
OK. That's all so far. Suggestions?

I like them all, especially Agamemnon who now looks like a real mycenean warrior-king!
Another idea, if you have more guys in your scenario who should look like noblemen/kings/commanders, perhaps you could let some ride on chariots, which probably was quite usual in that times and would make more a difference than just another footman.

I really like Agamemnon now.
I'm not so keen on Diomedes' white shirt. What if it were leather-coloured?
One small point: it looks like you've parented Diomedes' cape to his neck. It should actually be parented to his chest - then it won't move when he turns his head.
