That's sad :(
But the problem is that it isn't just a long loading screen for us, we have rollback for the guy who is joining.
It happens nearly everytime on a newborn unit or new production project (if it desync at the end of the turn, the next turn you have to put the production project again or you need to give the same order to your unit that is considerer at just born)...
That means player joining gets sometimes lots of rollback that are really delaying his plays....
Any idea how to fix that ? Don't care about the long loading ....

..., this doesn't look like the desync I usually have. Maybe it is due to the fact that I only played with "every human in the same team" (so our turn are simulatenous). But maybe it is a new kind of desync (maybe the number of hammer produced by cities isn't the same according to each computer?).

I don't have a lot of advices other than "make a bug report if you manage to pinpoint which information isn't the same on both computers".

I believe Quick Turn has a small quirk. After declaring war, your turn would has normal movement and attack animation. Reopen and close the Quick Turn panel would fix this quirk. After reopen and close the Quick Turn panel, I have quick attack and quick combat back in my turn.

If this behavior is observed by other players, I would suggest put the above solution in the OP to notify players.

Thanks for you answers... Sadly we have no other ideas :(
To be sure we even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it then just put your mods (first without changing the folder name then changing it to MP_MODSPACK since some people say it's better if both player has that name as mod folder) and still problems...
Nothing else to change before trying ?

I was wondering how can I add more mods into the Mod Pack 0-0

Download the modpack you like, go into the ModpackName/Mods, and pick all the mods you like. Put them into your MODS folder.
You can then enable them as if they were steam mods, and you can enable the additional mods you like.

Then, if you really want a modpack out of this, follow the "creating a modpack" procedure https://civ-5-cbp.fandom.com/wiki/Creating_a_Modpack
It takes 5-10 mins to do, but there isn't any shorter way than creating a new modpack.
(Well, there probably is, but it require you to understand how the modpack system works in technical details, but that's not the case for me)

You play on a team versus the AI?

You play on a team versus the AI?
Yes. That's far better for casual play, since we can talk openly about everything, and we take our time playing.
(And I've always preferred coop games to competitive games anyway.)

Balance is not that great for team play, because of few reasons:
1) Tech cost bug. In short, the number of city if the team is the minimum of the number of city if each player times the team's size, instead of the sum.
(Note that tech cost is multiplied by the team's size)
2) Free tech exploit. Free tech and stolen tech are OP because each player can have some and they stack

We usually don't put the AIs in team, because it makes the diplomacy kind of sad when friends and ennemies are fixed and cannot change.

But that's still a lot of fun.

Need help, I installed Mods_VP_2019-02-17_Magnus-Mutatio, and was playing fine. Then a few days later I wanted to play with a friend and placed the Folder called Save Fix for Multiplayer inside the DLC folder and ever since when ever I start Civ 5 I get blue screened. I even uninstalled civ 5 and reinstalled (without mods) and still get blue screened. What is happening? I should mention steam and my steam games are stored on drive D, not C.

You might get more visibility on this by posting to the Git Hub or in the larger Modpack thread outside of the context of VP. Sorry this is happening!

OK looks, like I had to go ahead and manually delete the Civ 5 folder under Documents>My Games. I am guessing the Save Fix for Multiplayer was messing with it. Is there an older version of Magus Mutatio I can use for multiplayer that does not need the Save fix File?

From my understanding the problem doesn't come from VP, it come from an update on the Civ 5 multiplayer system. And the Save fix File isn't even done by the Vox Populi team.
I might try to give it a look in the next few days.

Thank you for the great modpack, one question thought: when I play as Poland and advance to the medieval era I'm supposed to get a free social policy but, so far, I didn't get anything, in later eras (and in the clasical era too) I do get them but in the medieval not. Is this working as intended? Is it a bug? Maybe it has something to do with how recently you had your last social policy, I simply don't know. If you could take a look at this or simply tell me how to solve it, it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

"Every other era" mean "Once every two era" so not medieval, but rennaissance, etc.

(I did learn the existence of this expression while discovering this mod too, and I guess that's the case for a lot of non-native english speakers)

Well, seems that you learn something new everyday even in the strangest ways and times. I'm glad it was not a bug because I was intending to search for it in the core files until it was fixed. Thanks for the quick reply (and for the lesson too) and keep up the great work you are doing with the modpack.

So me and my friend have been trying for the past few day to play civ online with each other , and it keeps crashing after the first turn or first few turns (single player works fine). We don't know what to do, we have tried numerous different mods, uninstalled/reinstalled and still it crashes. I am guessing this all started after we used the "save fix" for Magus Mutatio but am not sure.

Any ideas what else we could do?

Hello, I'm using the most recent one (Mods_VP_2019-02-17_EUI) but I'm running into a strange situation where I believe I have Vox Populi running (tech tree, social policies, event system etc. are all working) but I don't have the new tech promotions tree and I also don't start with a pathfinder (just start with a normal warrior). I've poked at it for a while, the normal installation for single player MODS works fine, but I want to play this with friends, so we're using this modpack. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, thank you for trying my modpacks.

Please note that this modpack is on the last official version (and I'm waiting for the new official version to update it), which unfortunately has some bugs on multiplayer. In particular, playing with 3 or more humans isn't possible. This bug has been fixed in a newer beta version, so if you want to play with more than 2 players, I strongly advise you to take a look at the end of this thread for a modpack of the end of march: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/dlc-modpack-repository.609278/page-36

Another quick remark: the first check to make sure the modpack is well installed is to try to settup a normal single player game (without going trough the MODS menu), and look at the unique ability of the civs. Unique abilities from VP are easy to spot as they are much more powerful and complex than those from Vanilla (see the slightly outdated Vox Populi wikia https://civ-5-cbp.fandom.com/wiki/Civilizations). This is shorter than launching a game.

Now, the debugging part.
1) Make sure your put your modpack in the Asset/DLC. For example, the path for me would be "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\Mods_VP_2019-02-17_EUI"
2) Make sure you don't have both the modpack and a folder named "ui_bc1" in your DLC folder. Explanation: there is a copy of "ui_bc1" inside the modpack, and if you have two copy of it, it causes problems.
3) Post a screenshot of your DLC folder if it still doesn't work, so that I can try to see if there is anything wrong with it (for example, a missing official DLC, ...)
