Did Konrad Adenauer have some Hunnic ancestry?

Here is Konrad Adenauer:

And here is a Hunnic woman:

And some Hunnic warriors:

I can observe similarities in physical appearance between Konrad Adenauer and the Huns.

Maybe Konrad Adenauer had Hunnic ancestors?

Funny thing, the same Konrad Adenauer used to claim that: "Asia starts behind the Elbe River"... :crazyeye:

Well, the battle of Châlons was fought near the Seine River, which is "quite" far away from the Elbe River.

I'm not sure if it is or isn't possible to determine an individual's ancestry based on physical attributes, but its something I've learned to stay away from as it tends to be a touchy subject for many people. As far as I'm concerned its best to use a genealogical tree if you want a real answer.

Well, I don't think there exist any genealogical trees which date back to the 400s AD. ;)

And the Huns "disappeared" after that time, except for some small groups in remote regions.

In fact the Huns "melted" into the local populations that had previously been conquered by them.

But it seems that the "Hun speech of 1900" delivered by German Emperor Wilhelm II was not that groundless, after all... :crazyeye:

Probably true

And the Huns "disappeared" after that time, except for some small groups in remote regions.

In fact the Huns "melted" into the local populations that had previously been conquered by them.

If so, then after a few generations whatever genes the Huns passed on would have diffused over a large segment of the population in Asia and Eastern Europe. Comparing the physical characteristics of a modern person with one of the Huns who lived 1600 years ago seems like guesswork to me.

But it seems that the "Hun speech of 1900" delivered by German Emperor Wilhelm II was not that groundless, after all... :crazyeye:

So because 1 German looks like he may have been a Hun, the entire German empire was an extension of the Hunnic empire? That's one big logical leap you're taking there.

Really? He looks to be Arab to me. Or Australian. Or even Sami.

It's all Polish to me.

Nah, I say he's probably descended from the great traders of the Silk Road. Mixed Chinese-Japanese-Iranian, if you ask me.

There's in alien joke lurking here somewhere. A genuinely funny one. But I can't find it.

The tally so far:

Hunnic: 1 Vote
Black: 1 Vote
Arab: 1/3 Vote
Australian: 1/3 Vote
Sami: 1/3 Vote
Polish: 1 Vote
Chinese-Japanese-Iranian : 1 Vote
Alien: 1 Vote
German: 0 Votes

would have diffused over a large segment of the population in Asia and Eastern Europe.

Their genes would have diffused mostly among various Germanic tribes, as well as Western, Southern and Eastern Europeans:

Map titled "The Huns in Europe 4th - 5th centuries AD":

Black lines = directions of main Hunnic invasions (and that red point = the battle of Châlons)
Pink line = hypothetical borders of the Hunnic Empire
Pannonia = center of the Hunnic Empire (and here probably most of Hunnic population lived)

Wizy-Goci = Visigoths
Ostro-Goci = Ostrogoths

Vindebona (Vindobona) = Vienna

And according to "The Cassell Atlas of World History" by J. Haywood, the farthest western extent of Hunnic advance in Europe was:

The Hunnic army besieged Orleans (at that time known as Aurelianum) in 451 AD.

Well, there is also some similarity with aliens - I agree. So maybe the Huns were aliens?: :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Aliens

Assuming that the Huns were Ancient Aliens, allows us to merge together both theories.

So Konrad Adenauer would be both Hunnic and Alien at the same time. These theories do not contradict each other.

=======================================

So:

The tally so far:

Hunnic Alien: 1 Vote
Hunnic: 1 Vote
Black: 1 Vote
Arab: 1/3 Vote
Australian: 1/3 Vote
Sami: 1/3 Vote
Polish: 1 Vote
Chinese-Japanese-Iranian: 1 Vote
Alien: 1 Vote
German: 0 Votes

I'm going to be slightly unorthodox here and suggest that he might in fact have been black.

Well, in Brazil you can be "black" with 35.9% African / 53.9% European genes, while you can be "white" with 24.4% African / 66.8% European genes:

The Genomic Ancestry of Individuals from Different Geographical Regions of Brazil Is More Uniform Than Expected

So even if Adenauer was just 1/3 Hunnic, he still can be called a proud Hunnic warrior statesman. :)

Perhaps every single European is at least a bit Hunnic. But I say that 1/3 of Hunnic genes is a legitimate threshold to be a real Hun.

Don't worry Domen, that's not actually him.
