What does your Surname literally mean?

Mine simply means son of Sven I guess. It was quite common to be named after your father and when that practise ended I guess the last father to name his children after himself(first name) was called Sven.

?

'conquering people' or 'victory people'

The funny thing is that I'm Irish. lol

literally?

"Of the Horned People"
or
"From the land of Horns"
or
[the rough translation]"Of the Horny People"

I aspire one day to be the antichrist.

Same as mine then. yours the one that beginds with 'W' or with 'Ph'?
W for me, but I prefer going by B. I remember us having the same first name. :D

Icelandic naming system. "Son" means son and "dóttir" means daughter. The father's first name is Jón, and presumably this Jón guy's father is Stefán. It was used in other Nordic Countries historically.

This is a random facebook picture of someone with the same last name as you.

He seems pretty Swiss.

Searching facebook for the name returns a good percentage from Switzerland.

I don't know and I most likely never will. Neither will thousands of other, yet unrelated people with the last name "Budhwani"

EDIT: But apparently, my first name means Peaceful or Pride

I have no idea what my surname means, but my first name means God Remembered. What he remembered, I'm not quite sure of. But the important thing is he remembered.

Mine is German meaning bell ringer. There are two spellings throughout Germany and Austria. Mine is the spelling most often found in the Rhineland. It's also similar to the tallest mountain in Austria.

"Hochuli" it's kinda a mash up and change the e to i, like I've heard a lot of Swiss words end with. Drop the "S" and mash it into the end of Hoch and you can kinda see it....

edit: when I run for political office and the other guy googles my name looking for dirt and he finds this place... I'm screwed.

Then delete it again? ;-)

Are you sure about the school thing? It seems quite far fetched for me. The first thing that came to my mind was "Ueli" which is a Swiss First name. But knowing that Old German, this name could mean anything ;-) For example the Ho(ch) could come froma verb meaning forest cleaning. (I actually don't know).

So have you got the same name as a certain famous composer?
I thought you were that famous composer for about a half second there the first time I saw your name.

/me hums the Riverdance music
