What is your IQ?

I would think this could be a valid question, BTW, depending on the available choices. If they're very close and it is just a trivia question, then it certainly has little merit. If, however, the choices are quite varied, then one could use basic knowledge combined with extrapolation and logical presumptions to determine the correct choice.

138, visual mathematician...

btw... which of the five fruits is a freak, cherry, grape, plum, apricot, peach?

The only one i can see that seems to be different that the others is grape, because it doesn't have a stone in the middle, while the others do?

I'm not even going to bother with the test because IQ tests are a complete load of waffle.

ahh, that's right... I was uncertain cause I have eaten a plum in circa ten years.

120-130 range. Not tested online. Most of those sites just want your money...

Nah. Either way, its stupid. Either the answers are so similar that it requires worthless trivia knowledge, or the answers are so different that it requires common sense.

(Then again, is that all an IQ test is? Common sense?)

Bone that! I'm not gonna go and waste my time creating a fake address so I can waste time on something I'll entirely forget in a week! I could be watching tv or playing video games!

MY IQ is high enough that I don't get suckered-in to adding my name to a database.

They sure suckered me, though :(

A clerk tediously looks over a database list...

Clerk: "Jack Mehoff? eatme@no.com?"

IQ tests are supposed to test your ability to reason by using things you supposedly cannot know or practice for. They involve solving puzzles and sequences and the amount of time it takes. It's not something that can be done online.

I got 127 (but didn't add Internet inflation), but while reading the descriptions I found that a bad score seems to be impossible , at least no "dumb nut" was available

I don't trust online tests. All I know is the official one I took was high enough to get me into the gifted program at my school. Meaning its at least above 130.

Since everyone here has claimed to possess an IQ >130, I can only conclude that you are all full of crap and stupid for believing bogus results from a crappy test.

I got a 312 on this one, and a PhD certified 279. Apparently it was the highest ever recorded or something but these tests are pointless anyways.

Spatial reasoning. You should be able to logic out about how far it is from New York to Paris since you know that North America is ~3000 miles across and can estimate what that relates to a globe, comparing North America to the distance across the Atlantic. I'd have to see the multiple choice answers for it, but, if they're something like:

A) 500 miles
B) 1000 miles
C) 2000 miles
D) 10000 miles

C is probably closest to the correct answer (which I don't know).

But what if you don't know America is 3000 miles across? Or you can't work in imperial?

what if you don't choose the shortest distance (i.e. take the long route around the ice caps) ;)

Didn't feel like registering or whatever that was so I'll say I got a 140.

I've never taken a real IQ test, but, the way I see it, it's a win win for me. If I'm brilliant, then good for me. If I'm not, then at least I've done a hell of a lot more with the intelligence I have than most people.
