What Video Games Have You Been Playing #11: I should go

That might be the difference maker here. I rarely go over Easy. I'd be surprised if the difficulty level changes it, my experience with difficulty levels is that it just makes the AI cheat or have more resources, not that it changes their behaviour in any appreciable way. But that seems like the most likely cause.

Well, having more resources would mean more money to recruit agents, obviously, but yeah I don't know the details of how difficulty affects AI behavior. You certainly can get fairly complex observed differences from simple causes like having more money but it depends on details of coding etc that I don't know.

on normal difficulty with DeI mod I haven't noticed any serious agent use by the AI in Rome II

edit: I also haven't played very much beyond turn ~70

Holy crap, the work in this is astounding.
Too bad we can't merge Skyrim's graphical engine with Morrowind's stats and gear engine :(

yeah, but there is some leeway. morroblivion also managed to cram some morrowind gameplay mechanics into the oblivion engine, which was super cool. like levitation and other magic related stuff. it's also possible to change the attribute system somewhat, though returning completely to the old one is indeed not possible, same for skills and the dice mechanic.

I squeeed when I watched the video. I've already had my fill of normal Skyrim and OpenMW works just fine for me, but I think one of my great loves won't be too jealous if I took a peek at Skywind.

I was playing the Sims 2 and I sent one of my Sims to a store to buy some groceries. Two other sims decided to spontaneously strip naked and woohoo on the bench outside. I love this game.

On a bench? I think you have some interesting mods. ;)

Autonomous Casual Romance. I've actually run into some funny conflicts between it and other mods, such as two Sims deciding to get it on in a freshly dug grave. :ack:

Surely some sort of "bench sex" mod too, since that's not even possible is it?

Not in my much tamer recollections of the game. :)

On both Android and PC I recommend that you play The Battle for Wesnoth. Some mods come in Turkish, too.

At a glimpse from youtube video, this game seems like a combination of Kohan and Age of Wonder, seems really interesting, does it have rpg element inside it?

ACR handles that. It's just the makeout animation except they take off their clothes first.

Path of Exile: Legion - I wasn't loving the Duelist for some reason, so HuatareTheLion was born. Axe & shield Marauder. Molten Strike; found a Tabula Rasa; Ancestral Call Support - Combustion Support - Rage Support - Added Fire Damage Support. Massive Mana problems. Ancestral Protector. Blood & Sand. Herald of Ash. Leap Slam.

I tried Molten Shell and Steelskin, but they expire so fast, I'm not quite sure how to use them. I end up forgetting about them altogether. I'm hanging onto the Guard gems, though, I feel like they might make more sense later on. Maybe they can be combined with a trigger gem, Cast When Damage Taken or Cast When Stunned or something.
IIRC Molten Strike was nerfed this league. :( If you like ax builds (I do) the Soul Taker is a fast way to solve mana issues. It doesn't use any! You can use 100% of it for auras and CWDT etc.

Yyyes. It's a mixture of turn-based tactics with varying amounts of ‘RPG elements’. Your units usually have 3 levels and they progress by fighting, and killing (and surviving). Sometimes you just get better stats, other times you get new abilities.
You also have heroes which you have to save, and all units, even those with no new abilities or upgrades, still have traits that tend to balance out (extra movement points, better dodging, more HPs, etc.) in various combinations.

That's the main game, though. Some user-made campaigns centre on small groups of units or even weirder stuff (whatever the individual project's contributor(s) might add) e.g. the Elvish Dynasty RPG or Mountain Witch.
Do check out Kwandulin's dunefolk campaign when you're ready, half the dialogue's still in Turkish because he never translated it. They say gildirim a lot ;).

">SHOOT THE PIRATE
Trembling, you fire the heavy arquebus. You hear its loud report over the roaring wind, yet the dark figure still approaches. The gun falls from your nerveless hands.

"You won't kill me," he says, stepping over the weapon. "Not when I am the only protection you have from Jean Lafond."

Chestnut hair, tousled by the wind, frames the tanned oval of his face. Lips curving, his eyes rake over your inadequately dressed body, the damp chemise clinging to your legs and heaving bosom, your gleaming hair. You are intensely aware of the strength of his hard seaworn body, of the deep sea blue of his eyes. And then his mouth is on yours, lips parted, demanding, and you arch into his kiss...

He presses you against him, head bent. "But who, my dear," he whispers into your hair, "will protect you from me?""

Yes folks it's from a romance game and even worse it's an IF (Interactive Fiction) Text Based game from Infocom. Am thinking of giving it a try as an introduction to IF gaming.

It's "Plundered Hearts" a a couple of gals commented on it at https://www.myabandonware.com/game/plundered-hearts-c9

Yeah, I'm a girl and this is cheesy as heck. Great if you're into novellas so trashy they're funny, but the plot seems to just happen to you no matter what your character does.
The other "Chickadee 2014-08-24 0 point DOS version

GREAT GAME FOR GIRLS! I'm about 10 minutes in and I had to stop to write a review. If you're a girl and you want to experience a perfect, classic romance this the perfect game for you!"

Well I ain't no gal, but read it's a intro to IF and doesn't have any puzzles like 'How many Nano Seconds will it take for you to travel to Alfa Centuri and back if your traveling at 3 furlongs per hour?"

So will give it a try.

This is a kind of strategy game that I actually like, fire emblem one of my all time favorite turn based strategy also have similar feature.

man sound both crazy and fun, as long as the game has a solid and dedicated community of modder I believe this game is a good game

Lmaoo! Turkish language surely sound like that! I believe what you read was Bildirim, means Notification ;)

It can get more complicated, but I'd rather let you find out.
One only example: there's one map in a user-made campaign in which you are meant to win while fighting as little as possible. Killing enemies gives negative XP, so the less you fight the less you lose. You'll fight anyway.

It's all done with no financial support so some of the mods get discontinued, but I've helped by reporting bugs and a large majority of the modders do take the gamers into account. If you join the forum let me know. :)

I've just gone through the dialogues of the introduction to the Oath of Allegiance campaign and it is ‘gidelim’. Makes more sense than bildirim.

You're thinking about this all wrong. What are you going to 'catch up' to? Paying full price for games, that's what. It's much better to be about five to ten years behind the development cycle because then you usually pay really low prices for your games, enjoy a continuous stream of new content, AND benefit from years of accumulated meta-knowledge of the game.

More proof that you and I are more alike than you'd like to admit.

What drives people apart is often far less than what they have in common.

I've made it to October, 1945 in my HoI4 Italy game. Very little has changed in the past six months. The main thing is the Soviet incursion reaching the Aral Sea in the south, and the Germans now knocking on the gates of Moscow. There's now little doubt that without the Italian distraction, the Soviets would have fallen, but whether they will remains anyone's guess. I made a late-summer offensive in August due to the weakness of Germany's defences in France, forcing them to divert troops east. Their reprisal took back most of what I'd gained, but Grenoble is now more securely Italian than before.

In the end, it looks like a question of who can outlast the other. Germany's mobilization has been impressive, but some day they'll have to reach the end of it, and their manpower should start falling. The only question is whether the Soviets and Spanish can ever get ahead of the curve with their own mobilization, or if the USSR will lose too much ground first (for now, Spain has at least held steady, and Italian manpower is gradually recovering as mobilization continues). I'll likely have to wait till spring to renew an offensive, due to limited supply of military equipment.

Oh, and things have been happening in America. There is now the Second Civil War going on, between the Communist States of America and the Free States of America. The Communists are likely to win, as they have contiguous land, as opposed to the three sections that divide the Free States. Still, I added the Free States to the New Roman Empire, since if they win somehow, it's better to have them on my side than Germany's side. In doing so, I probably eliminated any chance they did have, as the alliance caused Canada to declare war on them.
