What Video Games Have You Been Playing #15: Computer not on fire yet? Better add more mods!

From Software should NOT be allowed to sell PC games that use mouse and keyboard controls.
I need to use like 20 keys and 10 mouse buttons at the same time to play there stupid game.

(It didn't recognize my Logitech dual controller and now iam screwed)

Sometimes steam big picture mode or whatever is better about recognising controllers.

It has grip pads on the back, which no other controller has unless you're dumb and laying out $150 for an "elite" controller. Dual stage triggers, a gyro, everything is reconfigurable to everything and can be used in like 6 different modes, just broadly speaking. Tens of thousands of possible combination tweaks.

Definitely going to skip it then, thanks!
Too bad, it's a great game, and you'll miss some setup for the New Vegas world.
(though it's nothing that can't be gained by reading a Wiki on Fallout 2. But still)

My first choice was "Mother Clucker," but it didn't fit in the text box.

which one doesn't allow gamepads? all my dark souls games as well as sekiro work well with an xbox 360 gamepad

So I got this letter from the mayor:

(That's my real first name. I've been using it in games more often because I hate the spelling of 'Aimee.')

So after from sleuthing, I found the shorts in his secret girlfriend's bedroom. So I did the obvious thing and returned the shorts to him in the most discreet manner I could think of. :smug:

I'm carrying them over my head and handing them to him in the middle of the saloon. :smug:

You could have your account name changed, if you felt so inclined.

I'm used to my ridiculous picked-when-I-was-14 name though

And not sleeping in over 24 hours leads to such brilliant ideas as this:

There is no more seasonal pass for PoE1, and the version I linked already includes the expansions, so that's basically the same content.
But the 30 % tax, that's certainly weird. Is it applied on GOG ?
It's applied on the end of whichever poor sod actually puts up a credit card. Basically, since last December, Argentinistan is in the hands of an executive branch of government which has unconstitutionally appropriated most legislative functions and also (important towards the online acquisition of videogames) imposed a FIFTY-DOLLAR monthly cap on credit card expenditures abroad.
Did they make any improvements at all in the gameplay?
In some ways, yes.
I think I'll skip it. Even if they added incremental improvements, if it's basically the same game as the first gameplay-wise then I'll pass. Too bad.
It runs on the same engine. I know that it's clunky and also that I'm used to clunky interfaces (need I remind you again that I won freaking Freespace 2, a space starfighter simulator, on keyboard controls alone, on maximum difficulty, including all the secret missions?), but I distinctly remember it being less clunky the last time I played them back-to-back a couple of years ago.

Awesome! Glad you're liking it. The overall experience is worth it as you now can see. I agree there are some things that are lacking but this game is great for when you're in the mood to strategy game but don't want to think too hard.

Yup :) I am currently close to a conclusion of my first game. I got to admit that it is super fun. Got Titans already but still Antarans can put up quite a fight. Just recently I've defeated a fleet of theirs : IIRC it was 30-40 ships in total . They got no titans but four battleships ,a dozen of cruisers and a hell lot of destroyers and frigates armed mainly with torpedoes. I got 2 titans , also 4 battleships and several cruisers + orbital installations but I've managed to win yaay ! :D It is always a pleasure to watch all those beam weapons firing and all those missiles flying, the overall chaos is so cool ! On a strategic layer I've got to admit that lack of the "creative" trait doesn't hurt as much as it did in "MoO 2: Battle at Antares" (unless You were Darlok and there were Psilon on the map :D) Terran race is awesome too , I think that after I finish my first game playing as Meklar I'm goona choose them for some quality warmongering :)

I found a Stardew Valley save editor that'll let me rename it something other than Farm Farm. But part of me doesn't want to.

Path of Exile: I decided to play my Raging Spirit Necromancer in The Atlas of Worlds, and wow, is she effective. At level 73 (with 9 Passive Points hanging around unspent) she's way better at clearing maps than my lvl-80 Cyclone Gladiator or my lvl-74 Dominating Blow Guardian. She's terrible in the Mine, and not so good at chasing Abyss cracks. Basically, any time you have to press ahead with some urgency, she's not so great. But otherwise, she's a beast. She's not even that flimsy. You might expect her to be a "glass cannon", and strictly in terms of her own defenses and Life she is, but 23 minions is like having an entire NFL team protecting the QB, the offensive team and the defensive team; when she gets hit, she goes down, but it just doesn't happen that often. Summon Raging Spirit is maybe too effective. Zombies are definitely too effective. And she has no special gear, just run-of-the-mill yellow magic items. It's not outside the realm of possibility that I've simply stumbled upon a perfectly-tuned arrangement of Gems and Passives for her, and all of my other characters are shabbily-assembled.

Sentinels vs. Undead: As minions go, Undead win, hands down. You just summon them. With Dominating Blow and Herald of Purity, your character needs to land effective melee strikes on the enemy to summon the Sentinels, and the Sentinels are on a timer, so you have to start fresh with almost every fight. My Necromancer couldn't fight her own way out of a wet paper bag, but she doesn't have to.

I've been playing quite a bit of Forza Horizon 4, both on my own and with a friend. I'm really enjoying it but I feel like I'm beginning to lose interest in it. Admittedly I've played it quite a lot recently, so I might be close to burning out with it. It might be worth taking a small break. Probably one of the best racing games I've ever played.

Also played some Mordhau with another friend. Quite hard, and reminds me of the long-deceased War of the Vikings as well as the Mount & Blade franchise. But the community is beyond toxic, and there's no real tools in-game for dealing with it. I can't see myself playing much of it on my own, because I think it relies a lot on teamwork and it's much more fun when you're playing with people you can communicate with.

Definitely going to skip it then, thanks!

Yeah, you aren't missing anything in Fallout 2. And it's even worse playing it on a modern system since you get hit with random encounters out the wazoo due to the devs programming the game to base the percentage chance of random encounters on how much RAM you have available. At least that's what I read when I was trying to figure out why I couldn't travel between two locations without having at least ten to fifteen (not an exaggeration) random encounters.
