What would you do if you are Saddam?

Facing almost certain defeat and possible death, what would you do? Will you surrender? Brace for it? Attack?

I'm really curious to what realistic choices does he actually has and how he might want to gamble on them. What speculations do you have?

I would do anythink to make it as hard as possible for the Americans. Arsoning oil fields, using possible wmd, etc...
If I was him I wouldn't die alone, but take as much people with me. I don't think the Americans would let him live when the get him.

Not even being able to fathom how a "man" like Saddam thinks I wouldn't have the slightest idea. Taking an offer of asylum would be his best choice though.

EDIT: Great timing on your thread, btw. CNN is announcing demands that Saddam broadcast his guilt to the world as part of the new resolution.

Seriously if Saddam could pretend to have nuclear weapons he'd be doing himself a favour, though I'd only use that wheeze if it looked like America was going to attack in the next 24-48 hours.

i'd get as many other countries as i could to become "hotbeds of evil" or something. like North Korea.
if every third country in the world is worse then Iraq then the US would have no excuse to attack me.

If I was Saddam but retained my mind : I'll become a gentle dictator, put Iraq outside sanctions by complying, reallocate a big part of the military budget to rebuild the country, and prepare the come-back of democracy by building the necessary institutions

If I was to roleplay Saddam : comply with the disarmament resolution, follow the rules, basically try to strip down any reasons the US have to attack.
At least this way I'll keep power

Suddenly 'discover' all my chemical and biological weapons, shoot a scapegoat for 'hiding' them and beg the UN to destroy them. Then sit back and laugh as the British and American governments flounder.

...not that that would neccesarily save me as the US seems commited to illeagally removing me from power no matter what.

I'd probably have an orgy with my harem. Get some rest. Have another orgy with my harem. Get some really good food. Some nice wine. Have another orgy with my harem. I'd try and time the invasion and my harem orgies so that when the special forces guys finally fought their way in, I'd go out with a bang.
