Let's clear up one thing, the President of the US can not be impeached unless he has committed a crime. He can not be impeached for any of the following reasons:
1) Being the idiot most of you wish he was.
2) Ignoring the UN
3) Invading Iraqi without UN approval. Congress has already authorized him to do so.
4) Going against popular opinion.
Clinton was impeached for lying under oath. Which just happens to be a crime. Impeachment does not remove the President from office. It is the same thing as an indictment. The articles of impeachment are generated by the House of Representitives. They simploe state that there is enough evidence against the President to put him on trial. It doesn't even mean he is guilty of the crime. Once the President has been impeached a trail is held in the Senate. The Senate can then vote to accept or dismiss the articles. That is what would remove the President, the trial in the Senate.
Clinton was charged under articles of impeachment, but a quick trial was held in the Senate and the vote went Clinton's way. He remained President.
Criminally, Mr. Clinton, made a deal with the prosecutor to avoid possible criminal charges ( and it can be argued that it would have been hard to convict him).
Now, to get back on topic.....
Saddam has sent buyers to pick up diamonds. A hard currency that is better for a fleeing dictator than cash. If I were he, I would take the money and head for ayria or Lybia. Better a rich exile than a dead dictator. BTW, it wouldn't be the first time that Mr. Saddam was exiled from his own country.

I'd stall and drag the mess out for as long as possible (spending as much time with the harem as possible...)
Then, flip a coin.
Heads- We admit our weapons, drag them out into the streets, and tell the world we've been very very naughty. If that doesn't stop the war machines, try for asylum.
Tails- Hit a random country with a missle with a random WOMD, claim that country A sold us the missle, country B sold us the chemicals/technology to make it, and that we've been secretly trading with countrys C through Z during the UN 'embargo' all this time, and watch the political mess that causes.

If I were Saddam, I would pull back all of my Republican Guards divisions into Baghdad, have a special unit dressed in US uniforms commiting atrocities against my people, and spread the photographs in Baghdad, so that people of Baghdad will also fight against the invaders.
When Americans will nearing Baghdad I would destroy the dam on Euphrates (or was it Tigris?) to slow down the US advance, I would also set fire to major oil wells.
Before my communications are cut off, I would appeal to Arab nations to send mujahedeen to Iraq to fight the infidels. I would also transfer some of my money to Al-Qaida, Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist organisations. Also before Baghad is fully surrounded I would try to get some WMD out of Iraq, so that operatives of the above mentioned organisations can use them "appropriately".
If everything worked to plan, US military should now be involved in a bloody battle in Baghdad, with Al-Jazeera showing exclusive footage of US military and Iraqi civilian casualties. While still in Baghdad, I would constantly keep moving from one bunker to another. When things get really desperate I would shave off my moustache, dye my hair, change my clothes and escape from Baghdad. Before that however I would try to fire off all my remaining WMD stocks (hoping that something hits Israel).
As I escape together with a flow of refugees, hopefully Israel would launch some retaliatory strike against what's left of Baghdad, inflaming the whole of the Middle East.
Now my mission is over. Middle East is in flames, and I'm still alive. While on the run, I would be thinking about how to topple the newly-installed US puppet government.

I would concede to all U.N. demands. He has no hope in facing a U.S. led coalition and would almost face certain death. I think his problem right now is his pride. He is very preoccupied with not being percieved as weak but that will in the end be his downfall. If he were to concede than all embargos would be lifted and economic aid would almost assuredly come from the U.S. I would rebuild my country and negotiate to have the U.S. forces leave. It would take time 10 years perhaps but I would be patient. Then after everyone has forgotten me I would begin rebuilding my arsenal and army. I would secretly build nuclear plants and begin enriching Uranium and Plutonium to build Nuclear weapons. Once I have them noone would dare invade again. Then I would reinvade Kuwait and then Saudi Arabia. I would sign an alliance with Iran, Jordan, Syria, and North Korea. I would have North Korea invade South Korea to preoccupy the Americans..at the same time I would send terroist groups to America with nuclear weapons to bomb strategic sites...and sabatoge nuclear plants causing massive destruction. After controlling all the middle east I would turn on Egypt then north to Turkey. I would send more terroist to Europe and begin massive terroist activities there. Eventually I would be defeated but I will have killed millions and destroyed trillions of dollars in property before that happens. Even if I'm defeated I may still live through it and remain ruler of Iraq.
