What year did you begin using your screen name.

What ws going on?

1996 for me. Civ 2 was out.

'97 iirc.

First trip to the Philippines, met my wife to be. Come to think of it might have been late'96.

This is only site where I use this, and it was a namechange in 2009 or so. First forum I signed up for.

2008 is when I started use of another screen name for gaming purposes

2002 was when I started having online screen names (all games), probably used a good 4-6 of them.

Why do you still have a disclaimer in your signature for a name change that was five years ago? :p

2007, when I first got my computer.

I was in 7th grade so it wasn't very good mind you

Maybe in case of posts where he was quoted, like:

It can be useful to help follow the flow of the thread in such cases. And while some previous names posters will still remember (VRWCAgent, for example), eventually most people will forget the original in favor of the new.

Might be 1995. I got internet around 1st grade which is 1995-1996 for me. Dusters stands for my fondness of cleaning stuff :D

Must be 2000 or 2001.
Okay, not this exact name, because the name I used then could have been considered offensive, so I now use a derivative of it. Have used it over...mmhh...5 forums, and in half of the RPGs I play.

The...johnson?

Some posters will always be known by their original usernames, no matter how long ago the name change occurred.

2000. I changed my Yahoo! name because I lost access to my old account. I could have been dude003_99.

Yes, that was really my first Yahoo name. I was terribly creative in middle school, no?

*lol* no. Was "Jesus" at the beginning (because I played Fallout and Arcanum, where you are the "chosen one"), but I thought it could tick off religious people, so I wanted to change it, but just "J" is a bit too short.

Damn I always thought you were older. No idea you were my age.

Created it to play in LAN with friends. First games we tried were Warcraft 2 and Duke Nukem, so it's something like 1996.

I have never played Warcraft 2 multiplayer and I have always wanted to. I still do--I was bringing it up to my peoples as recently as last month. Is it everything I've dreamed it would be?

Well, if you discover it today, it will probably be rather underwhelming ^^
But at the time it was a blast. Though we had VERY different level of competence in the game, so getting always the same kind of results tended to wear off the novelty (so we played more FPS).

But then, it was the first-ever networked games we were playing (realize : each one on his own computer, but still everyone playing together ! Absolutely ground-breaking !), so it was just another world opening before our stary eyes.

Late 90s, when I first started playing online games and joined some forums which no longer exist, then when Civ3 came out I started looking for a civ related site found here in 04.

I resemble that.
