When did feminism go completely crazy?

Have I specifically ridiculed anyone? Have I specifically ridiculed anyone?

You post some stupid "RPG" which nobody (at least here) gives a damn about, then you post Paul Elam (someone no one here is defending either) and do the same with Roosh V, which even me and Commodore (the ones who question feminism) think is a (censored) idiot.

IF you want to discuss issues with us that's one thing, but what you're doing is posting links and videos of people that in no way represent our views, and then just "leave it there" for us because we're supposed to "defend" some BS that we're not associated with to begin with.

I have to admit that the women in the back of my limo collectively take up a lot more space than me, but they generally outnumber me by at least 3 to 1. It has really put me in bit of a tight spot at times.

It was a response to the same technique with the manspreading & other assorted nonsense and the OP in general.

Is it though? It's... generally men who spread out and take heaps of room on a bus or train, rather than women. Seems like a reasonable portmanteau for a tumblring about commuting annoyances.
Or at least, not in this way. If women take up a lot of room, it's generally because they've got a lot of junk piled up around them, which is in the first place not so gendered- men do it too- and in the second place isn't so easily fixed by just not sitting like a jackass.

The lack of irony in this is, well, it's just something special.

Fair enough, personally I think every time someone says "if you support x it means you really support y" you should get infracted on the spot, no matter what you're arguing for/against.

I haven't spoken for the pro-feminist posters here, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm swigging down a tall glass of Farm Aid.

I've just modified the software in my John Deere to run a blender and to download Willie Nelson tunes, so I think I can do that.

If we're going to do post histories and general attitudes, how about we start with the guy who started a thread about whether to withhold his wife's pocket money if she hadn't done her chores?
No, he doesn't do that. Remember, he doesn't let her have cash. It's all on a debit card. She doesn't even get to keep a penny she finds on the ground, since she might use it to run out and hire a lawyer.

And what does that have to do with feminism? Is it because my wife is a woman? So if I were married to another man and were doing the exact same thing in the otherwise exact same situation (which I would) would it still have anything to do with my views on feminism?
I know we argued this out in the other thread, but I still haven't changed my view that this is abusive behavior no matter who you're married to.

Look up manspreading and you will see it's a lot more than just one person who thinks this is a problem.
Indeed. There are quite a lot of Star Trek fans who think Will Riker should quit slouching and sprawling all over the place and be a professional instead of... whatever it is he's going for.

Dear Commander Riker: Sit up straight and stop acting like you're the universe's gift to women. You're really not.

"What-if" questions are fairly lazy comebacks because that isn't what is happening.

Even if it were abusive (which it's not), it still has no bearing at all on my views of feminism so for Senethro to bring it up here was nothing more than an attempt at mud-slinging and to attack me personally rather than attacking my argument.

This made me laugh.

Exactly. As it turns out, he's Rodenberry's gift to one woman. God love him for that, because it is clear to me that I could not be a in a relationship with a half-Betazoid.

Now her mother, on the other hand...

Okay, but I have still yet to hear how bringing up that particular part of my marriage is relevant to my views on feminism. Senethro's post was nothing more than a shameless attempt to attack me personally.

Commodore, lets be frank here, nothing about this thread is more than shameless.

Agreed. The problem I'm having though, is this isn't the first time Senethro has done this to myself and other posters here with whom she disagrees with (Senethro is a woman right? I'm pretty sure but not 100% on that).

Guess I'm pouring the drinks. What's your poison, TF?

The company in there does seem pretty decent. A little infatuated with random men's crotches and comfort levels vis a vis mass produced chairs. Perhaps a little too invested in how my balls-posture reflects my inner contempt for the capitalist wage-slave system. But probably a blast to get drunk in there on a Friday night and argue about constitutional law while the more-normals attempt to impress each other with their allure and charms.

Is the rest of his site satire?

Roosh V isn't satire. That said, he has (unintentionally) seriously helped the feminist movement by supplying them with near-endless ammunition... whenever someone wants to make those which question any part of feminism look bad, they point straight to him, as you seem to have done.

edit: Also he effectively is satire even though he isn't trying to be, mostly because he keeps pwning himself so hard every time he talks.

I'm not convinced men are doing it more than women, have proof?

As a woman, this entire thread..... what.

OT, you are weird. Really really weird.

Is it? In what way is this particular thread weird?

OT could certainly do with more female voices. I can't do anything about that, but you can.
