I'm not liking everything I'm seeing and reading about the game until now. So I will wait for some in-depth reviews after the game is released before making a decision about buying it or not.

I'm expecting to receive this game as a Xmas present from my brother since it's the only item on my Steam wish list. If for some reason he doesn't get me this, I guess I'll buy it before February. I don't think I'll get the other editions. And the dlc I may wait on since that seems very pricey. I'd like to wait for a sale for that.

I'll buy it when they make a True Start Location Earth map. It's all I play in Civ 6. Used to love playing it on Civ 2 also.

yes, I wrote "if I can make it", not "if they make one", moddability is the main selling point for me.

None of the above. I would have already preordered it, but I’m currently unemployed and my wife would castrate me if I spent $100 on a video game right now. Hopefully I’ll get a new job soon and I can preorder it. Or maybe I’ll get some gift cards for Christmas/ my birthday. But only time will tell.

Would hypothetical quick emergence of mods dealing in various ways with this mechanic sway your opinion, or would you remain steadfast in this rebellion?
In the meantime after playing a bit with modded version you could even give a chance to the vanilla game and itd new paradigm and check if it isn't fun after all
