There seem to be no stats about overall number of threads started, but it is likely i have the most by now (?), cause they probably are in the region of a couple of thousand ones at least (3K maybe?).

Most did not have a good run, obviously (3K maybe?), but a small number were decent OP-wise, in my view anyway :)

So, to start this thread, i will propose the following ones of my own making:

Belief systems poll

And a very recent one:

Can a non-human POV even be theorised upon?

*

Note: this is a feel-good thread, cause we all here are known to be polite grown-ups and wish only to advance the lives of others at every chance we get :yup:

due to the general high standards of OT, I have not yet started a thread, could I borrow 50 of yours please...

All mine have been duds, and have quickly sunk without trace.

I think this is a good thing.

Looking through my threads it is a veritable goldmine. I've had so many threads which have breached the double digits page mark.

I quite like my Gender equality paradox one. That didn't descend into anarchy...as much.

Cool Pictures III was highly-rated.

The only thread I ever started was the double spacing after periods one so that's probably my best. It had a pretty good run for a thread about periods I'd say. Got to page 9.

Ten years ago or so I made an American Civil War Trivia game thread which was very popular for a while.

I made a number of dumb threads in my misguided youths, such as "Would you take care of yourself?" and "What secret blood you have?".

I started a thread on mooning once that surprisingly didn't get closed and got a fair number of posts. My thread on the worlds fattest woman also generated some unexpected debate.

According to CFC's Find All Threads Started by {username} feature, I have started 142 threads. That means slightly less than 1/30th of my posts are new threads. I think that feature only returns up to 300 results though, so if you've started 3000 threads, it won't help in finding all of them. Sadly, you can't sort by the number of replies/views, either.

Of those 142, seven have reached 100 or more replies. Only one of those is in OT, and it's definitely not among the best (not very many of the threads I've started are in OT; most are in the Civ3 forums). Which means the best ones are probably my Conquests editor one, which is proving somewhat useful, and the first story I posted in the Civ3, back in 2007, which resulted in a relatively large number of people making their first CFC post in order to comment on it.

My Let's Read the Bible Once thread is by far my most successful thread.

Only read 2.5% of the Good Book.

Got 20,000 views and tons of replys and I think I see a Genesis thread pop up on its own once and a while these days.

I should probably get back to it one day. :mischief:

For some reason the first thread that popped into my head was this one (from way back in the day).

I was proud of myself for setting up a 7-player Civ 2 MultiPlayer game 10+ years after most people stopped playing it (it didn't goto completion but we probably got about 20 hours in).

Ultimate Civ Tourney (this thread was from 12 years ago  )

I have a fondness for this thread for some reason Behind it All. 2006 was a rather innocent time in my adult life. It wasn't really "good" but I didn't have all the worries & responsibilities I do now.

If popularity is any measure I have lots of good threads (276 with 50 replies or more).

every thread I opened was from when I was young & dumb

now I'm a little less young

except for some mafia games, but those aren't anything particularly great.
