Which D&D class did you always wish you could be?

I wish I could be a paladin. Calling down blessings on my allies and striking holy fear on my enemies. I also enjoy the idea of belonging to a holy order, and of being close to my God/gods.

Honorable Samurai (bad cleric class) with +50 persuasion points and a blessed IHP cloak

Warforged Bard. I'd play rock music.

If I feel less sporting I'll go with Xylander with the Xylanese ionosphere axe (with the silk touch enchantment of course)

I only once played Ultima Online. I was a mage, with virtually all powers in theoretical and magical fields.

Turned out i was thus unable to even carry an axe :)

Somebody offered to give you an axe after he killed you?

I haven't played farther than AD&D 2nd edition, so am not up on the fancier classes. I've always preferred to play magic-users.

There's something a bit weird, trying to play a convincing Cleric when the RL player is atheist... :hmm:

Yeah. We had a discussion on RL and MMORPG's for a while, after i got killed due to attacking him. He first stole my things, but after our discussion he offered to give me one of his axes, but my character was almost entirely magic-oriented so i had no power to carry the axe :)

Anyway, i only played that game three times, and gave up due to ping issues (it was the very end of the 90s and i was on dial-up).

Joker.

Or failing that Twit. Either a Holy Twit or a Twit-cum-twinkles.

Spoiler :
I know nothing about D&D. Does it show?

Never played much D&D, but I always loved playing as a Psyker in Dark Heresy or a Street Samurai in Shadowrun.

Depends on the edition, but in general, Wizard.

Be it DnD or an online RPG I always rather fancied being the stereotypical cleric. DPS and tanks play the game. The healer plays the players.

When playing the game? Nothing but wizard.

When not playing the game? Wizard. THE WORLD IS YOURS

Psion. Always way more interesting than mages.

I thought the psionics rules were a ham-handed way to force MP and other JRPG-like elements into the D&D realm.

Realistically, most of us would probably be mages but the suave medieval James Bond has some appeal. So the charismatic thief it is!

Chaotic evil.

Oh, class, you say? Thief.
