Which Difficulty Level will you try first? (Poll)

Sorry if something like this was posted before. I'm curious what difficulty level you will try first. I'm a bit uncertain myself. I messed around with CIV4 for years before learning how to play somewhat decently - I can beat Immortal now. However, I'm certain I will not start CIV5 anywhere near that level. I may just go with the lowest difficulty just to get a feel for all the new features. How 'bout you?

edit: My assumption from what I have seen so far is that the difficulty levels are unchanged. Please let me know if this is incorrect.

Either settler or chieften for the first game, i want to know the game like the back of my hand as soon as i can...

probably move up a level every game or two until i struggle to win consistently

I should be able to win no matter what I have a copy of the Art Of War

I'm not very good, so probably Warlord for first game. If I still get my butt handed to me, I'll maybe drop down a level until I figure things out.

Probably noble...which is hopefully fully capable AI and no bonuses either way. See how it goes and adjust.

Noble for me. I would go higher, but I think I need to adjust enough to justify actually not playing too high.

I will start on Settler or Chieftan, then slowly move up in the difficulties.

after that it will depend on results of first games.

Wow...we have a couple of ballsy players here. I bet Deity will be wicked starting out.

Not surprised to see a lot of folks opting for Noble. At first, I thought I might start at that level given my experience. However, I think I will just sit back and casually play Settler or Warlord.

Honestly, Prince or higher. I've found that if I start on easier difficulties, I struggle when I try and go up, but if I start high and learn through trial and (much) error, it's ultimately easier.

Since Civ5 difficulties are less about AI bonuses and more about smarter civs, it should feel more fair than higher level Civ4.

Immortal, but possibly Deity if I hear civ4 vets complaining about the AI. I want to lose my first game.

There propbably won't be Noble since it's not listen in Steam Achievements. I think I start on Prince.

hmmm....you know, maybe I will start a bit higher. Noble perhaps, if it exists. Good points about the AI just getting smarter as opposed to bonuses. I will do a bit of reading up though before playing - mainly regarding the policies.

Not that I ever really give two tosses about "achievements", but I may make an exception for this game, so I will start on Settler. Better to get that achievement sooner rather than later.

Assuming Noble is still the level at which no bonuses are given to you and the AI, I'll be taking a shot at Noble difficulty the first time around.

Or better yet, see if you can get all the achievements except for the ones about winning the game from Settler to Immortal. That would be ultimate bragging rights for a civfanatic.

Well I played prince in Civ4 put I guess I will start low. After all it is a completely different game. Also to get the "Conquer the World before 350 BC. as the Greeks" achievement.
