I watched the first two episodes each of The Witcher, season 2 of Lost in Space, and Reprisal. None of them has grabbed me by the neck yet, but I'll give them all a third episode.

Season 4 of the expanse was a slow start but it was fun watching the last few episodes with my wife who hasn't read the books. She kept saying WTH just happened lol. The funny thing is 4 is the worst book imo.

I wonder if they intended to take the series in a different direction starting with Cibola Burn and then realized that wasn't going to work either so they went back to space? Or maybe they just wanted to shake things up? It wasn't a bad book imo but it was the worst of the series.

I started S2 of Lost in Space and I got really annoyed with the selfie moments and the sappy memoir scene; they were so cringeworthy I couldn't take it. But other than that it's a nice bit of nonsense space escapism.

We also started S2 of You and it's aight so far. It's set up pretty close to S1 except now he has his own kind of stalker person following him.

I still haven't finished The Expanse but I'm on E8.

Slacker. What're you, like, making a living, or spending time with your family or something? Sheesh.

Haha no I've been playing a massive amount of FO4

I'm actually sick of it at the moment due to having to criss-cross the entire map 4 times in a row to save settlements that had massive defense ratings to begin with.

especially since defense ratings have no effect on random settlement attacks what-so-ever.

I wasn't going to mention Lost in Space but now that others are watching it I suppose I should. It gets better after the second episode. But I can't say that it ever becomes good. It's fine. I gave it a 7.5 because it wasn't awful and went by quickly, but I also can't say there's anything about it that stands out as well done or interesting.

I bailed on Gilmore Girls' final season. I'm becoming better at just not watching the parts I don't like while re-watching shows. So now I'm re-watching Community.

I'm also now going through The Witcher. It's okay so far, I guess.

They say that if your defense > food + water production then attacks should decrease but that is a lie. I'm seriously going to disable settlement attacks with a mod. I hate that it feels like cheating but when you can't fast travel and you have to stop every other mission to save a settlement with beast mode defenses, it turns into a chore.

This moment from Lost In Space was astoundingly stupid:
Spoiler :
The crazy lady admitted to the mom that she tore up their greenhouse which nearly killed everyone and forced them to take to the sea to look for energy. And the mom just stared at her and accepted this and didn't even tell anyone else.

Seriously WTH? The mom had it out for her the entire episode and then just meekly accepted that fiat accompli.

Think it's annoying now, wait until you go to far harbor. 'Cause they don't stop when you go there. Meaning you'll have to trudge halfway across the far harbor map to take a boat back to the commonwealth and then trudge across the map to the settlement.

Spoiler Lost in Space S2 :
Smith, in general, is just an awful character. She was the low point of S1 and was definitely the low point of S2.

Lost in Space [...]. It's fine.

The Witcher. It's okay so far, I guess.
This is exactly my reaction to both shows so far. I'm also re-watching the second season of Halt and Catch Fire and that's by far the one that I'm the most eager to get back to. It would only take a stiff breeze to knock me off of Reprisal, Lost in Space or The Witcher. In the case of The Witcher, I'm really only interested in Yennefer's story. Through two episodes, I could hardly care less about Geralt or Siri. I started watching Reprisal only because Abigail Spencer is in it, and in the first two episodes she's hardly in it. The oddness of its setting - reminiscent of Streets of Fire - is the only thing that's holding my interest.

Spoiler The Witcher and sorta kinda The Mandalorian :
I'm only 3 episodes in, so this might change later (no spoilers for the 3rd here, though). What's annoying me about it is that Geralt suffers from Mando Syndrome, except unjustifiably. In the case of Mando, he's just some orphan kid, so getting his ass kicked is whatever. It can get grating but there's nothing about him that suggests he should be great beyond the title and armour. But Geralt is preternaturally enhanced and what-have-you. A rare breed. He's a mythic hunter of monsters and unparalleled in combat. You see this when he's fighting jabronis in the street but somehow everything non-human just demolishes him. Getting stabbed repeatedly by a woman? No problem! Nary a limp. A punch from an elf? Instant KO. And then the monsters themselves just toy with him and he manages to best them through sheer luck. Not even craftiness or determination. Just gets lucky.

I also don't care about Ciri. We're given no reason to care, tbh. I imagine this will change soon.

Mind, my perspective is clouded. I've never read the books and I've only played the first ten minutes of the first Witcher game. I know nothing of the lore or characters beyond what the show is giving us.

I think he's trying to make a joke about how much he thinks Star Trek sucks?
I guess I still don't get it, which is par for the course with Tak's comments I guess.

:nope: After finishing the season, I still didn't care about her.

I don't think the show gave a lot of leeway to new people. I haven't played the games or read the books and found it a little hard to get into, especially with the alternating timelines.

I think you misunderstood. We found it unwatchable because it didn't feel like Star Trek.
Ah. We have a difference in criteria then. The original Star Trek (not least the overacting) feels horribly dated to me.

*unfriends Takhisis*
Not a joke. See above. But if you still want to unfriend me… :(
