What I actually need explained is the apparent contradiction between your stating you're reading complaints after having posted an apparent complaint of your own.

Edit: Oh, you think I meant the show. No. The character is also named "The Mandalorian." He is physically weak and not great at combat beyond his resiliency and luck.

Expanse S4 E1 & 2

Spoiler Bobbie :
In the books, Draper was not dishonorably discharged, was she? I do not remember that at all and it's kind of upset me. Bobbie was not a criminal (a DD is equivalent to a criminal conviction), she was a war hero!

Anyone catch that the actor for Arjun Avasarala has changed? He's younger and got a completely different vibe. Not sure how I feel about it because the old actor lined up well with my mental picture of Arjun but I could get used to the new one.

Other than those minor things, I'm loving it so far. Amazon really stepped up the production value of the show; it's very cinematic and has more set pieces of greater variety. The scene where they landed the Rocinante was very moving for me.

Never would have thought that about a Fett but I could dig it.

He's not a Fett. He's not even a native Mandalorian.

Spoiler :
Just watched Episode 4 tonight and her "criminal" activity is expanding. It really makes no sense either. She breaks the law by helping a group steal equipment in order to help her nephew, but feels guilty and later tells her supervisor. The supervisor instead of immediately turning her in wants in on the action so she quits out of honor, I guess. The supervisor ends up turning her in and she goes to jail, where she decides to call the head of the criminal group (who's also a detective) and join them full-time. :crazyeye:

Agreed on all counts. My only problem thus far was what I mentioned above concerning Bobbie. That, and personally I think they've gone a bit overboard with the swearing now that it's off regular cable. I mean I love Chrisjen, but dang, every piece of dialogue has at least one f-word in it. :mischief:

Chrisjen curses like a sailor in the books too so I'm fine with it. Amos also cusses more in the books than he has so far in E2.

Rick and Morty has been good but not great this season. Waiting on Mr. Robot to finish airing so we can binge it in a weekend. Westworld really needs to come back too.

Mostly on Reddit about how the show's about nothing, about how it's generic, about how Jon Favreau is bad at media, actually. I don't really get it.
I just watched all six out so far, and I gotta say, while I do like it (especially Episode 3), the plot isn't really moving. 4, 5, and 6 could be moved around in any order and it wouldn't make a difference.

Does she? I haven't read the books yet so I wasn't sure if it was in character or not. I'm just not a fan of excessive swearing - it lessens the impact imo.

Chrisjen is just a horrible witch of a woman in the books. Her show version is much better.

@Laurana Kanan - Yes, it's actually a central thing about her character specifically. She's renowned for it. The books are filled with cursing in general but she amps it up.

You should read the books though, they are great. I watched the first three seasons of the show before reading the books and that did not impact my enjoyment. If anything it enhanced it because it gave me a lot to talk about when writing about either the show or the book as I could compare them against each other and pick out the changes.

Also, so happy they brought Cara Gee back in the show - her character doesn't show up in the books until like book 5 or 6 but was in Seasons 2, 3 and now 4 of the show for increasing amounts of screen time. I don't crush on many actresses but she is one that I think is quite pretty. She also plays Drummer quite well.

??? What? I don't see that at all. She's lovably irascible and has a lot of redeeming qualities. She's also quite funny and overall a strong, commanding character.

As far as "The Child" plotline, I agree there's not a lot of movement. However, there's been so much SW easter egg goodness in each episode, it doesn't bother me one bit that for the most part the episodes have been stand alone adventures.

I have them all and plan to eventually, it just takes me a long time to read a novel. Even after surgery my eyes don't work too great without giving me headaches when reading for more than 15-20 minutes at a time.

I am sorry to hear that and I hope that the issue corrects itself or can be corrected. Your local library might have audiobook CDs or streaming files of the books if you like audiobooks. My library system had some but not all of them available as instant streaming files. I believe they had them all on CD too but I don't have a CD player anymore (lulz).

Just finished the exp e2 and like they way it's headed. Weaving in the plots from the next book so they include the full cast more works for me. After the first episode I was wondering if the entire focus would be on new earth.
I have the rest cued up and looking forward to them. The swearing doesn't bother me since she gets the best lines in the book and the swearing is usually part of the reason.

Ah, I see. That could make the character interesting, actually.
