While We Wait: (Almost) Anything Goes

Hi. We are putting together an NES-IOT reconciliation document/list of demands. It will be the basis for any merger of the two subforums.

All of your opinion and feedback is greatly desired. This google doc is open to any comments.

It is clear enough from Ailedhoo, Christos, and others that any discussion as a group is impossible. There really is no point in bothering anymore. Our best interests will never be served.

Any discussion with Ailedhoo is like walking through treacle :p

i still don't know why the issue of PDMA got wrapped into this in the first place (well... i mean I do, but i guess we are all pretending not to).

Cause it is an issue that directly contributed to our community being harmed. It deserves attention in this.

So, on a lighter note, anyone know of any good software for map-making? I tried Autorealm several years ago, and while I love the name generators, I had to stop the project I was working on at the time due to the constraints of the software. It wore down my patience and I put the project down.

I've been working on a fantasy world in my downtime. Initially, I was toying with the idea of pocket world in the Sidhe mound, and the populace dealing with the world's collapse as magic becomes more unstable. For various reasons, I found it constrictive, though it's an idea I want to come back towards. Currently, the world I'm working on is set in a stone universe, where basically the void of space is more or less solid stone (The Firmament) and planets are empty spaces (Duns, dwarvish for "Halls/worlds"). Life thrives in pocket worlds sustained by star crystals in center which exude a repulsive force in a manner which behaves similarly to gravity and magnetism.

But basically I need to map out floating islands. Any recommendations?

Paint.net is great for hand drawing on a computer, I understand GIMP is also considered good.

Autorealm I think is the only big map making tool that's free... But yeah it is less than comfortable, so I like just hand drawing with paint.net.

I LOVE gimp. Gimp is amazing, and I use it for everything.

Gimp is the best thing to happen to computers since computers

I generally just hand draw it all with the pencil/fill tools that come with any image editor.

oh hey join the club :p

I use PDN for the most part.

also Hi first WWW post :p

Yeah, Paint.net is my current photoshop-lite choice, but I'm looking for something a bit more specific and perhaps less time consuming. I may end up buying some software.

No! It's too complicated, it lack in functions... is too complicated! I would stay with Paint.net or something simple that works with layers.

Gimp is only hard if you want it to be.

Hey, does anyone still/play Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance? I just started playing with the 'FA Forever' community multiplayer launcher (since official support was dropped), having fun so far!

I use photoshop like a man.

Me too. A totally legitimate copy... Totally.
