While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

I'm welcome to claim what? That saying saying that using 'British' to describe the English exclusively is more of a semantic error than a basic misunderstanding of history.

We might be using different meanings of semantic. I mean to say that it is an error in word choice, not a complete misunderstanding of history on the British Isles.

Why are you people making a big deal about British, English Scottish retardedness.

Clearly because I used a single word in the wrong place means I don't know any history at all.

Basically.

English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish retardedness. :mischief:

Because we apparently do this sort of thing, here's a screen shot of an ongoing EU3 game with me and Justo. I'm England, he's Burgundy.

A new set of screenies from mine and Justo's EU3 game. I just recently changed over to Great Britain, he's emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, but more on that later. Outside of Europe, I possess Greenland, the Azores, the Canaries, and Bermuda. Brittany, Switzerland, Tunis, and France are all British vassals. There's more as well to be discussed later. Justo has Iceland, which is not displayed on the below map. Sweden and Castile are the only other real powers at the moment, as I've seen it, the rest seem to be more or less struggling. What's left of France is my vassal.

Spoiler :

As it turned out, with some dead time while Justo consolidated the Holy Roman Empire, the Pope was kind enough to declare a crusade upon Tunis. After English forces brought the heathens there to their knees as vassals, the Pope declared a crusade against the Mamluks, the holders of the Holy Land. English and Burgundian troops marched triumphantly into Egypt, as the people rose up against the Mamluks as well in a war for the throne. In the treaty, I secured control of Libya, Judea, and Gaza. With luck, I'll be able to restore the Kingdom of Jerusalem before the Reformation hits.

Spoiler :

Speaking of Justo, he's gotten himself into a little bit of a pickle. Having reached the final two stages of forming the Holy Roman Empire into a single state, he's hit a bit of a snag. With the decision to create all of the members as vassals of Burgundy, the nobles of the HRE showed some backbone. He's now effectively at war with all of Europe, having been fighting Castile and Aragon when the problem erupted. Here's a diplomatic map, all the red is who he is at war with.

Spoiler :

I feel bad for the future students of history who have to memorize all 46 Wars of Burgundian Aggression

I said about the same thing, that picture shows Burgundian Wars of Aggression 2-48.

On the main forum index page, NESing has been moved above spore!

Is anyone else with Europa Universalis 3: Heir to the Throne interested in doing a succession game? Essentially we play as a monarchy, then whenever the ruler dies or is deposed, next player steps in, regardless about the amount of time.

I don't have EU3, but I'd love to play some kind of NESer succession game.

Well obvious choices that I can think of which would work well are:

Victoria Revolutions
Europa Universalis 3
Civilization 4 (or 3)

Not sure what else is out there though.

So a succession game with those games? Because Vicky is the only game I have in that list.

Can anyone in fifty words or less tell me what Critical Security Studies is; and what differentiates it from normal security studies?
