While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

Yes, but I have a feeling given the way the power games are being played in Europe and Asia that a strong Ottoman Empire will be opposed, heavily. Thankfully in this NES I am not in Europe so I just send a note saying do not like and leave it at that.

EDIT - And well this is NESing...all I'm going to say.

Firstly the Ottomans were always a Muslim empire, at the very least since the reign of Selim the Grim, and they certainly considered themselves as such to a certain extent and after 1517 had become a more traditional Islamic state.

Secondly the notion of Turk, and Turkish nationalism was a relatively modern construction. An Ottoman for much of the Ottoman Empire if asked what he was might give his tribal affiliation, he might say that he belonged to the House of Osman, he might give his religious identity, or he might call himself an Ottoman. Turk would not have been a term used by him. Turk was somewhat insulting. A Turk was a dirty peasant who worked in a field.

At this point in time the predominant reformist ideology is not Pan-Turkism or Turkish nationalism, the Young Turks at this point are still a tickle in the Ottoman testicles. The Young Ottomans, and the notion of Ottomanism are strong at this point especially since in the given time period we are still in the Tanzimat era.

Charles, telling everyone your plan isn't the best way to go about it...

Lol, that is not a plan, that is a goal.

My 'plan' is not half as devious as half of you think, and yet is more than half times more devious than the other half of you guys think.

Still not wise to tell people your goal.

I know hes saying he is going to do this, but I am pretty sure he really intends to conquer Korea.

So, I recall this being mentioned in a thread somewhere else that I cannot recall but:

There are tons of fantasy NES that have been abandoned shortly after they began. It's a waste that these maps are simply discarded and never used again. Now, I'm spreading the NES love to another forum and would like to know if it would be possible for me to get a hold of those fantasy NES maps so I can pick one to use over there?

@ Adrogans: You've been reading too much into that AAR...

@ Nutra: It was me that said that.. didn't get much of a response :/ Most people don't seem to keep their maps long after the NES fails, or don't want to share their work. I might be able to get hold of one if you PM me...

Actually I haven't checked it for a couple of weeks...I should do that now.

Sorta-new NESes that I support is Julius Gandis C2c: Countdown to Conflict. I am trying to shore up the Ottoman Postion and hope that Arabic Nationalism wouldn't smash my attempts.

Join JulNES C2C, or we will find you...

...and when we find you, there will be no mercy.

BTW, which of you know if I am pulling the hood of BS on all of you when I said that THAT was my goal, or not? :mischief:

Thanks, Abbadon, though I agree with you in that it would be nice to have a collection of the fantasy maps. :)
