I agree with your analogy regarding stories.

Yeah, I have a new theory myself: you people are just frioggin' weird.

What? That's not new? Oh well, still counts.

Anyone've tried out Minecraft? It's the most awesome thing ever.

I know I'm not the most active NESer right now, but I'd really like to have some online fun with any of you guys.

(Seriously, check it out. It's the cutest game ever.)

i KNOW ABOUT IT. I love the whole multi-cooperative creation idea. I've yet to actually play it though, as I don't need something else eating up my time right now.

*too lazy to fix case in first sentence. I'd rather add two sentences to explain this.

Bashar is godly.

Minecraft was fun online with my friends for about.... 22 minutes. Then it just died. We even had the hack where we could noclip and all and well.... we did make a huge NES Mario though. That was nice.

I'd love to play in a Persistant Minecraft world with people from CFC populating it :)

Things sound completely awesome. Three people are fine to go.

Also, Daft, you'd love it. You should buy it. It's very cheap.

... Alas, though, I don't know how to run a server. Anybody know how?

skeptikalz!, you are free to join anyways. :) I love Minecraft and would really like to build something fun in it. A huge fortress is always doable.

Minecraft is awesome, if some here can set a server up I gladly join.

Well, you guys are cool and if we actually do something I would try it out.

Make a simple profile, and either get the tools (never tried making my own server) or just choose one of the pre-existing servers to try stuff on.
Minecraft is super fun, but I'm probably a bit too busy to do much with it right now.

I can't today, but I'll show up Thursday around 3 PM in the +1 time zone. :) With a post in here. And then I'll tell you what server to get on and when. Probably that day.

I won't show up Thursday, I'm sorry. xD Stuff came up. I want to have a whole day available, so it'll probably be next week.

Check your PMs Communisto. if you disagree, just write that but either way get back to me. If you want to chat, get on #NES.

Well the free trial is but it doesn't have nearly as much as the full version (you can have the free one forever though, and you can do multiplayer.)

OOC:
Unrestricted meant that you don't really care what ships are being fired upon, but choosing only to fire upon ships of enemy nations that declared war upon you means that it is unrestricted, as it would be restricted to nations who declared war on you. But then your warning of unrestricted submarine warfare would be useless as well as alarming the international community.

Unless that community is inhabited by NESers, then, it would be considered a normal military event.

This is not neutrality. This is declaring a side without entering the conflict.

OOC:

You do recall Germany's unrestricted submarine warfare do you not? This means he his not distinguishing from a civilian or military vessel so long as they fly an enemies flag, not I'm sinking everyone MUWAHA!

OOC: This is correct. It means that I'm not soley targeting military vessels, but also civilian ships that may be carrying contraband. The warning is similar to ones that the Germans ran in American newspaper in World War 1. It does not mean I'm targeting every vessel that is not mine

Yet.... :p

American ships are also targeted, but they weren't Germen enemies yet.

Yea, but those ships had weapons being shipped to Germany's foes. Okay no more derailing the thread for me.

Discussion moved Via Request.

What is the true meaning of unrestricted submarine warfare? I say it is the destruction of all ships, commercial or military, in a certain area. Others say that is the destruction of ships with the enemy flag. What should and is the true, accepted meaning for this in diplomacy and within orders?

It depends. The way Germany used it was any enemy vessel or those carring shipments of war material to said enemy. In the nes it had never been done before so he gets to say what he means by it.
