1. How should I improve the update style or writing? Is it too descriptive, not descriptive enough?
It's not dasian enough. :mischief:

2. I think its established I will change the map style, but which type should it be? North King, Israelite, or Symphony D. map? I'm fine with all of them, I just need votes on such a map.
Northern or Symphonic. I personally don't see much of a disconnect between the two (except for a few places, like in West Africa, where the Northern style is a little screwed up with respect to the land/water boundary), but since a lot of people like Northern better than the Symphonic-style glow, you'd probably pick Northern from the two.

3. What should be eliminated from the rules? Obviously, I'm not a minimalist type of NESer, but I would like to cut some unnecessary features. Also, what rules can be improved? I'm specifically looking at the economy in particular. Are there any rules that seem overly complicated, or not made clear?
I don't really approve of the technology rules, but that's a personal complaint and probably invalid for the rest of the rules.

4. Should I post the entire update in one go, or should I simply show the parts I'm finished with, like I'm doing now?
All at once.

5. Besides this, any reasons for not joining? Too busy, don't like me, etc?
It's starting to get a little busy around here (though I will admit that perhaps my Team Fortress playing could be pared down a bit), I don't really like the setting, I am still plugging away on TL stuff, and I'm really looking forward to BirdNES and whatever das ends up rolling out.

NO.

xcl.

carmen510, the reason I'm not joining your NES is just because it's not interesting me at the moment! I think it's the time period.

Just a little more pestering of the NESing community, what do you think of my NES so far?

In particular:

2. I think its established I will change the map style, but which type should it be? North King, Israelite, or Symphony D. map? I'm fine with all of them, I just need votes on such a map.

I'm going to try something new for me in BirdNES 3. Once I get all (most?) of the orders, I'm going to post how the update begins: all the events launched by players that are significant. It would include wars started, expeditions launched, changes in government, maybe diplomatic initiatives, projects begun etc., but no results. That way players can better anticipate what is underway. Then the same text will start off the update, but be followed by what actually happened.

Yeah, I'm definitely not suggesting you tone down your TF2 time. Actually, I probably have played more L4D in the past two weeks than my entire time NESing. :p

So it seems not many like a WW2-esque time period. I always see people playing either modern, industrial period, or ancient period NESes. >.>

Retroactive deletion.

Dachs, why have you stolen MjM's avatar? ;)
No, no, no, no, and no. MjM's avatar is the Iron Cross. My avatar is the Teutonic Order's cross, which has a longer lower stem. You had best square yourself away and start crapping out Tiffany cuff links, or I will seriously screw you up!

Is anyone having trouble accessing page 60 of SheepNES? It is the last one and I cannot open it.

Did you delete the page by accident?

Thanks guys!!!

I am working on the Sheepness problem, but it may be more widespread.

I hope it isn't anything serious. Although I've noticed odd things like it. I posted in EQ's NES, but it still showed that Darth was the last one to post in it.

Edit: And it still does. Huh.

Perhaps this is related to the database error of this evening?

TF is taking a look.
