It's not that hard to spell. Much more difficult is Abbbaddddddon, in which I never remember the doubling of the letters.

Just contributing to the "when is the update discussion" I recieve that message way too many times, but hey, responding slows me down and I enjoy conversation. Therefore, people who ask me may just have to wait even longer for their precious update to arrive.

I'm thinking, with all the hoopla surrounding requesting ETAs on updates, why don't mods just edit an ETA to the first post of the NES? Then we can legitimately crucify anyone who asks further :D

When I update, I put a status meter in my signature.

Not that half of the forum here remembers a time when I updated consistently. :p

I now declare myself defender of the Dasian faith and will now begin to purge the land of these heretics.

I fart in your general direction, and my penguin shall step upon those evil ones who follow the faith of Das.

Actually, no. Any post with the words “When is the update” deserves to burn.

So, when is the update going to happen for Empire: Total War? :crazyeye:

Chill your bad self. They just had one on March 30 or 31, depending on where you live.

Generally you can tell when a Mod has given up on a NES,

Not really, there are all too many exceptions for this to be a rule. That said, those posts are still irrelevant and useless because if the moderator is willing to recommit he will do so regardless and that stuff is only grating and distracting for both him and the rest of us.

I actually got the hang of it recently, but refuse to call Abbadon by his proper name for disciplinary reasons.

The reason I did not spell thalyiyis' name correct was to ensure people realised how ridiculus I thought the conversation was.
It was soo much fun though!

I am feeling woe over my NES.. what to do, what to do :(

Hopefully I will have an update completed today.

I just really want a successful NES, but I can't say i'm enjoying running AbNESIV :(

Well, if you updated more you'd probably get more players. You're just digging yourself a bigger hole if you don't update because of the lack of players. Updates attract players.

But if you don't want to run your NES, then don't. You don't have to force yourself to run it.

But that will be another NES dead on my credit :(

I dunno, i'll mull this over.
Essentially I have fallen out of love with the setting.
Its incredibly limiting.

Okay, this is the last I'll say on this: There's definitely a player-mod contract that's established when you run a NES.

If there's nothing wrong with the moderator expecting the players to send orders and write stories on time, there's nothing wrong with players expecting the moderator to fulfill his (or her) end of the bargain. The mod's job is harder, so there's a little more tolerance for delays, but they still have a responsibility.

Also it depends on the moderator's personal beliefs. Some mods like (and/or need) the cries of people expressing interest in the update in order to get the motivation to do it. Especially with the advent of the long-term NES that updates once every several months, it's good to know the update schedule ahead of time, to plan accordingly.

Look back to what made you fall in love with it in the first place. Literally if possible. I haven't really given your NES much of a view (because you kept linking to it everywhere :p ), but there is a lot to do with primitive tribalism if you approach it right.

Maybe shake things up a bit with some new elements, like rule changes, magical catastrophes and/or strange external interventions.

Well, my magical NES finished off due to the collision of several simultaneous plots to destroy the world.

That's totally me. And I realized it a while back, but hey AIM is lots of fun.
