Let's just... not try to make moral judgements about each room, it'll get us nowhere. They're both rooms that have had some excellent discussions, despite their different managements (and the different prevailing cultures that come from their memberships).

I'd be much happier if we could all get back together, but my conversations with both sides have made it pretty clear that most people have very little interest in getting back together, so I suspect we won't be saying any changes from the current split at any time in the immediate future.

#neverending is simply an alternative place to chat. I moved there because I found #nes to be an unpleasant experience. You're assigning waaaaaaaaaay too much importance to a chatroom.

NK had no part in it, as he came a few days later. Facts must be kept straight. But the ousting of azale from op status to defend the banning of NK by fc was the final straw as far as we were concerned. It is a shame no one else sees how awful #nes is for the community as it currently stands. That is why we made a second chatroom for the people that do not wish to put up with the current brass in #nes and their repeated insults to our community.

We have no quarrel with #nes. But, please, keep up your public trolling of our "schism" for as long as you want. We'll actually be NESing in the meantime, and, yes, that means not quitting NESes over petty things such as a "schism." We have a community in which many people do not participate, yet they call themselves NESers and strangle the community with their habits. But whatever, I am done here.

You did not pay much attention to what actually went on, did you? #nes is antagonistic by nature. And don't say that I'm wrong here. I have the logs. I participated in it myself. #nes serves no purpose but to be a battleground for insulting one another until someone leaves or, more likely, is kicked or banned by someone in power to "win" an argument. That doesn't happen in #neverending.

Yeah maybe it's just me, but I'm not the one who got so butthurt over my inactive-lapsed founder status that I tried to write a manifesto, PM everybody I could find in secret about the manifesto, and proceed to launch a coup in favor of myself. I never said such a thing. I was saying that EVERYONE should just calm down, and actually look at what they are "fighting" about. You are fighting over CHATROOMS, not an EMPIRE or a RELIGION!(just emphasizing words)
