i knew you were a real man of the left
I was talking to Luckymoose, bro.
Yeah maybe it's just me, but I'm not the one who got so butthurt over my inactive-lapsed founder status that I tried to write a manifesto, PM everybody I could find in secret about the manifesto, and proceed to launch a coup in favor of myself. Oh, and when that failed leave an internet chat channel FOREVER because they're meanies.
But hey, maybe it's just me.
Uh, Lucky, you're...not idling in #nes.
Pot, kettle, black. Just sayin'.
That happens when you only log on to be a condescending jackass to people.

Haven't seen Azale in SysNES lately.
Back to the original thing: yeah azale, you don't care about the community, so stop that hugbox garbage.
It would be nice if both sides could admit that they made mistakes and overreacted.
Let's step back from the brink of hating people. We're all intelligent individuals here, and we could find some common ground and address people's concerns about the IRC community if we really wanted to.
>_>
I can't believe you've apparently decided fc's opinion was simple truth, but I think it's hilarious that you would bring that idea up, given the events in this thread.
Dis has nothing to do with this. Noob and alex were basically doing my orders for me because I was incompetent at dealing with the ruleset. I thought it was unfair to Dis to continue, so I left. It was a good nes, I just wasn't very good AT it.
You literally only came into this thread to call us all idiots, so yeah, you're a condescending jackass.
I looked up the one PM I have relating to splitting off of #nes. It's from Luckymoose, and it is 5 sentences long -- two of them one or two words long. What a manifesto. And that PM is pretty even-keeled, given that it's from Lucky. I guess azale just couldn't find me to PM.
But for the love of God, stop making this out to be a power play. Kraz, I had told you since at least the fall of 2011 that I disapproved of certain ways things were getting handled in #nes. I didn't want power. I think I used hop status for anything other than voicing people once. And whenever I brought up concerns to you, you poo-pooed them. Every time I brought up the fact that I found the tone of the conversation and the heavy-handedness of the moderating (if you could even call moderating at that point), you ignored it. Then, when it finally surfaced in WWW, you got all angry at me for "airing dirty laundry in public."
I know that I, personally, brought up these concerns at least 3 separate times in very clear and plain language. Over the course of two years, I tried to explain to you why I thought #nes was heading down a bad road.
You did not address these concerns. You did not even treat them as legitimate concerns. So I chose to join a new chatroom when it became an option. That's it. Since then, it has been repeatedly blasted as a "coup" or "schism"; been repeatedly bashed behind the scenes in #nes; you messaged me to tell me that Luckymoose and azale were idiots who didn't deserve my time of day; you quit my NES which you had invested probably tens of thousands of words into, explicitly telling me it was because I had left #nes. I now apparently can't speak to one of my best ever friends from the Internet because he refuses to go into the "wrong" chatroom.
But no, I guess #neverending is a hotspot of melodrama, and of overreaction.
And stop portraying azale as some sort of self-centered jerk; the reasons we left have been reiterated so many times that painting it all as a power-play is ridiculous. It's getting borderline offensive, too.
But you regularly do that in off topic tavern?
But you regularly do that in off topic tavern?
Yes - I dismissed the "concerns" you had from the moment you addressed them to me - because I didn't think they were particularly salient or worth addressing. The personality of a chatroom obviously reflects the character of the people who frequent it, and you can't change that without physically banning people from the chatroom. As much as I might personally wish it, even Luckymoose isn't permanently banned from the channel, so your objections to #nes such as it was and is obviously would not be ameliorated by a moderation change. Since it was plaintively obvious that your actual objection to #nes was due to the presence of a few members you disliked talking to, I told you of the /ignore function and assumed that that would be a level-headed solution that would not cut off your access with the rest of the community you could access on the channel.
In any case, you continued to use #nes throughout this period and even tacitly used it as the active nexus of discussion of your NES for months on end. When did things change? When 1. a member you disliked talking to returned and you chose to immediately stop frequenting the channel, despite him not doing anything to abuse you whatsoever 2. Azale returned and found out that his founder status had lapsed for inactivity. That's what started the ridiculous dramatics of secret PMs, attempted change in channel powers, foundation of a rival channel, etc.
Oh, and if you wanted to talk to Thlayli, you could also join the other channel, you know. It's a two way street.
