Terrance's NES seems to be going well right now, and NK's N3S is a longrunner that's going strong. PerfNES is also a good choice. Unfortunately, GalaxyNES seems to be in a bit of a hiatus right now, although I have intentions to get back to it in the future.

Absolution could use another player, I have some choice NPC's available and you can always create your own country. It's a traditional fresh start.
