While We Wait: Writer's Block & Other Lame Excuses

Still totally interested! Please, bump your NES if you are up for continuing!

I think the idea's cool germanicus, but I always find playing in pre-established settings to be a little restrictive. The only NESes set in other media universes that I've really enjoyed have been in Warcraft-based settings, and that's because they're deliberately vague about details so a lot of things can be realistically made up.

Cool! I'm looking over what I've written and... it's pretty jumbled. Mostly complete (I just need to add in a few events and include Lord Joakim), but pretty jumbled. Well, I'll edit as much as possible, but I'm aiming for getting this out tonight. No more delaying this overdue update!

Wee! If needed be, I can post the story in the thread too. :) Can't wait to read the update.

@nutranurse glad to hear you survived hospital! Best wishes and good luck with the NES - I must confess my ignorance to most NESes but am trying to catch up :s

BTW guys, if anyone has Corel graphics suite (Corel PHOTO-PAINT to be exact), I found it can load the micrografix picture publisher file format, which is the ancient image editor I've been using all these years, so I can give you all my maps and stuff with all the clickable floating icons/sprites intact. Just have to be sure to use the import function rather than open (which crashes).

Alright, so I'm out of the hospital for real, finally. Had to do some semi-major surgery on short notice, but that's life.

I am wondering if the players in my NES are still interested or if I should just start up something new. I don't really care either way, though I totally understand if interest/commitment has waned.

Glad to hear you're OK! Of course I want to continue :)

Hey Thlayli, your DipNES 06 orders are going to be 5072 hours late in about 15 minutes now.

It might. I'll look around and send PMs tomorrow to see if there's any interest. I could also update tonight if you send orders. Nevermind, I also need a Turkey player and orders from him.

Wondering if I should join another NES... or hold off for right now.

D~: It's really hard to write updates while drugged out on pain medication.

Also I'm finding myself more and more inclined to start something else, though I likely risk being chased by an angry mob of players.

Whatever you want to do is fine by me, I just wanted to see how far I could take the Swiech before they implode on themselves. ;)

Daww, Nutranurse, that's too bad.

What are you thinking of doing? (and I was REALLY interested in this setting.)

Ya me too.

Well, to be honest, the update is done. Well, done in so far as that I have 3 more events to add in after reviewing orders (I forgot pretty much everyone's magick research). It's just that I can only work on the update in brief spurts before I start to drift off or feel icky. If I stopped the NES I probably would not stop it but put it on hiatus.

I was thinking of doing something set in the current NES' world, albeit on a different part of the world. Around the same time setting as well, actually. The focus, however, would be smaller and more about dynastic struggles between a couple of Elven/Orc/Half-Elf-Orc houses (as elves and orcs are kin in this setting). Cataclysmic magick included.

edit: The real reason I would shoot for this type of NES is because it would be a lot less for me to deal with, which is kind of what I need at the moment. Granted, I could just give up NESing altogether, but I kinda like NESing.
