While We Wait: Writer's Block & Other Lame Excuses

WW1 was a missed opportunity for the workers of the world to rise up, cast off their chains, and overthrow the militarist bourgeoise.

I am Spartacus.

Luckymoose is right on this one. The odds were pretty overwhelming, especially when Alex Samsonov is your opponent at the sad excuse for a decisive engagement. There was an earlier battle at Nesterov before Tannenberg, a rather humiliating defeat where the almighty forces under Nicholas II, lord of so on and so on, still lost despite outnumbering a undersupplied German force 6 to 1. Lest we not forget that Konrad Von Hotzendorf was also a commander in this war (shudders), leading Austria-Hungary into a severe handicap. Austria-Hungary held Germany back on the Eastern Front from an even greater victory in my honest opinion. If people really want to understand how unbalanced and unfair this campaign was, I suggest taking a look at the Focsani Armistice, Operation Albion, and Operation Fistpunch.

Why exactly were the Austrians so comically inept in WWI? German officers were even able to whip the Turks into something approaching fighting trim, but it seems like the Austrians never got any better.

Well the Mađars and Švabstrijans haven't really endeared themselves to the Slavs during their rule over the Balkans.

Reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms for the first time.

Everybody is telling Yuan Shao, "Bro, don't let Dong Zhuo or any of the other warlords into Luoyang." Cao Cao is offering way better solutions.

What do Yuan Shao and He Jin do? Let Dong Zhuo into Luoyang.

Am I misreading something, or is Yuan Shao kind of dumb?

So, realtalk: this thread is 54 posts shy of doing in about 2.5 years what it's taken New NESes to do in 9 years and it's already long-since gotten more views in that same time than End of Empires has gotten after 6 years. Also, since around the time of the F-35 debate onward (about 5 weeks), it's gotten around 30,000 or so views, which is more than any other previously-not-mentioned thread on the first page except Botwawki 2.6 (0.5 years), NESLife VI (1.5 years), TerraNES (2.5 years), and Open Spots (12 years).

Feel bad about the state of your hobby or something.

Seeing as we talk about everything here I wonder how many random google lurkers views we get.

We're famous!

F-35, f-35, f-35.

Views aren't the only metric of how much you pay attention to something. A "WWW view" takes about 20 seconds to read a Symphony D. zinger, while the same view in EoE might represent twenty minutes of reading and writing stories or planning.

Also McDonalds has more "views" than the 5 star french restaurant blah blah

Also also WWW is supposed to be a hangout for the entire forum community which is variegated into multiple NESes so by nature it'll have more views than a single NES thread. Not sure what you're getting at here. "More people hang out in Times Square than the New York Stock Exchange, damn you stockbrokers should feel bad about yourselves. Get butts in seats, people."

lol ok sure bro
