Oui. Unfortunately, my canal was much more important than the happiness of the Romanoi. :(
I would not have cared if you took the canal, all I wanted was Anatolia and some Christian control of the Levant.

Again, I blame it on my inability to talk to anyone BUT North King on an instant messaging-type thing, which would have eliminated most of those problems.

I don't ally with everyone I IM, you know. ;)

I meant that I would have been able to explain my side of things to Panda, so he wouldn't act unilaterally.

Silence, oh ye of little faith! I'm just putting on the finishing touches, and by finishing touches, I mean doing the spotlight. While simultaneously writing an essay on the nature of evil.

Ah.. the nature of evil...making NESers wait for an update. :mischief:

To go off on a tagent...

I wonder if anyone would feel like posting a very brief summary of the current state of affairs in any of their favourite NES's?
Very well. Summary of ENES. (I'm updating it at the moment, just so you know)

Ezorath, northwest continent: The undead have overrun one nation, driven a second into refuge on the nearby continent, and are attacking a third, while the fourth is fortifying.

Praalse, northeast continent: A small undead force is stuck in the north, while the players to the east are almost done expanding.

Middle: The gods of Olympus have just finished conquering their continent.

Extended East: Some horrible diplomatic / espionagical web of stuff.

South: Several rebellions and minor wars, but nothing particularly lethal. One highly advanced country.

Did you people honestly think you could defeat me with such poor planning and coordination. I refer to the French War in Dis NES of course.

We did defeat you. You were doomed the turn you turned over everything to the English.

That said, I/we didn't want to defeat you or destroy you. You just had to be reasonable. The purpose of the coalition was not to destroy France. It was understandably fragmented because not everyone saw war with France as advantageous at any given point.

The last turn you mean...hehaha you attacked France hoping to remove a powerful threath and instead the UKGBF was created many times more powerful than France could have been on its own. I did of course do that on purpose you are aware....

I always did wonder why Kalamr attacked, me. And Iberia too for that matter stupid fool, by cooperating with me he could have gained much. Ah well his folly, everyone gained little. The HRE was forced to give up large amounts of their northern and western Empire amd suffered heavy casulties, Aragon expended large quantities of blood treause, for little gain and had its capital and major cities destroyed. Savoy gained little, and also had casulties and Iberia gained nothing. What an beuatifully ironic war.

Savoy gained the second best city in France. ;)

Britain was not a threat; it was friendly. (On an OOC aside, we got rid of you, which was the real threat.)

You'd have to ask IP; I didn't even know about Kalmar until it happened.

Yes, everyone gained little, but France lost everything. To risk sounding like I'm whining, you didn't play realistically; France would not have fought on when it was clear it was going to be destroyed, it would have surrendered and saved most of itself. At no point were our terms unreasonable. Instead, France was utterly and completely destroyed. There was and is no real French aspect of Britain in that NES.

Wrong - the hundreds of years of the first Plantagenet empire left quite a french stamp on that Britain, I'd imagine the current English language would be quite different from its OTL counterpart. However you are right that there are very few aspects of Alexis's France in the UKGBF...of course that might change as France recovers, it still has a population advantage after all...

I was offered Aragon but I may gain them anyway since the look on the verge of collapse....

The reason I did not support you and your war was when you said you were plotting to destroy the HRE the only power Europe has to oppose the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans would have gone after my colonies which would have been devastating.

I was also unsure if your alliance would follow through against the HRE. I made a good choice because the Russians were key in defeating the HRE and a little latter they are invaded by the the Ottomans.

I am not a big risk taker plus I like being surrounded by trustful allies.

Yeah, uh, anyone who didn't see that das and the Ottomans were the greatest possible threat was silly. :p I was anticipating another turn or two to finish off the Finns and the rebellions before he struck though. Such is life.

I had my reasoning for not wanting to get in a prolonged war with the HRE and Aragon. France as an ally would not have been enough and the English or Ottomans would have taken advantage of that and taken my colonies.

Now I was nervous the English would do that with France but I think they saw me as an ally in future colonization of Asia.
