I have no intention of starting this NES soon. I'm not sure the rules will work as written. That's what the testing is all about. I was just surprised that no one had posted at all and I think of this group as pretty opinionated and willing to post their thoughts. The Farow said:I would wait probably Birdjaguar till some NESes close because most people are tied up with school as it is.
Wait till at least one or two close before opening yours.
Is it because everything is not a named nation and there is lots of grey area? I'm not sure what you mean by "normal fashion".Israelite9191 said:Too much work. Also, I generally stay away from NESes that focus on a single era too much. Now, to be frank, I totally detest the map style. I much prefer maps that are done in the more normal fashion.
Thank you. The few cities I have added are 4 pixel squares and are place holders until I decide how to indicate what a city is (capital, TC etc.) I've thought about having lots of cities and to this point feel they clutter a map unnecessarily. I know i will need more, but feel for now that they should be on the map only if there is a reason for them to be there. I was thinking that as players brought a city into play for some reason then it would appear. If cities as placed now are actually different sizes or shapes, it is entirely by accident and poor eyesight.Israelite9191 said:I mean how you only show capitals and not all cities, you make the capitals in that very odd square shape and use the size of the square to show the size of the city (or, at least, I think you do, I really am not sure about that). I just like the dominant way people make maps. Just look at any map for just about any NES and you'll see the difference with yours. I know there are some differences between different people's maps, but there is an overall style used in this forum that you don't seem to adhere to.
I appreciate the suggestions.Israelite9191 said:Acually, cities are necessary. I know that when I plan military operations, I always use the cities shown. As for how to show them, I would suggest you just follow convention. For capitals use a 2X2 square surrounded (except for corners, it should appear as a "fat cross") in black. For eco centers replace the black with red and for cities that are both alternate white and red. If you use the 3 city system, use green in place of red for cultural and blue for religious. For normal cities, I suggest 2X2 squares, but most extend it into a "fat cross."
No, I didn't betray you. It's sort of disappointing that I told you specifically that betrayal a) isn't my style and b) was unique to that NES2 VIb situation, and you still don't believe me. For the record, I kept to our agreement, but I have the sneaking suspicion that something else happened that screwed it all up.North King said:Dear freaking god. You didn't betray me, did you?
By "knack" you mean "that one time in NES2 VIb". IIRC you betrayed me in the First World War, since we had a defensive alliance and you'd only officially signed a "Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation" with Turkey, which is even more useless than an NAP. I've always been furious that you decided to side with the Ottomans while I still could have technically been at war with them, all because I never get on AIM/MSN/whatever thing you use for diplo and have the opportunity to try to get you on my side. Hell, I would never have wanted to fight you and be on Russia's side had I had the opportunity to go into Anatolia back when NK was fighting for his life against the Caliphate and the Afghans...I even told tommy_toon that I would help him if I could do so without France coming in and pounding on me, but then you betrayed the Caliphal rebels and I figured you'd do the same to me.IP said:He seems to have a knack for betraying others and nailing his own coffin

I wonder if anyone would feel like posting a very brief summary of the current state of affairs in any of their favourite NES's?

The NES wouldn't be fun AT ALL if I betrayed you. Plus, I'd have to endure the reputation of having betrayed someone twice.

It probably helped that I gave away some of the most strategic land in my nation to France with no payment whatsoever.

Don't forget the fairly pointless Asian war

As for France, didn't Alexis' measures stretch its manpower to a breaking point? Then again, manpower tends to recover quickly...
