Do NESers increase or decrease their time playing over christimas holidays? Will updates go faster or slower?

For me it depends on wether strong enough ice forms on the lake Saimaa, most likely, as a result of strong enough ice, I'll be gone until after Christmas, coming back just before New Year's Eve.

Another question, has there ever been thought of a NESer meetup? Would people want to do that?

The problem is that 40% of us are in Scandinavia and 40% scattered throughout the US, with the rest in such far-flung places as Japan, Canada, Russia, and Malaysia

NESers are very international.

Scandinavia - big place, NESers spread out in Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

USA - even bigger, 50 states and many colonies/protectorates.

Canada - even bigger still! BIG way from South Ontario to Whitehorse.

Israel, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, Poland, etc. - all very spread out, few NESers over big amounts of space.

Even in USA - Texas, Chicago, California, Arizona, Michigan, Colorado, Virginia, and many more states have NESers.

Also, many NESers are

a) VERY BUSY - a good reason for delays in between updates, many people have lives, and cant drop everything to see other NESers.
b) YOUNG - many NESers are young, and with all the internet safety things, I can't see many 14-year olds being able to go after telling their parents "I'm going to fly to _____ to meet people I talk to on the internet. I've seen pictures of them, so I know what they look like, so it will be safe!"

I know I would not buy that if a teenage kid of mine said that to me...

Well put, j_eps.

Somehow I'm reminded of that American kid of Arabian descent (I want to say he had family in Lebanon or Jordan, can't remember) who went to Iraq for a high school project a year or so ago.

Ryoko? why?

The question you should be asking is: why not? Ryoko is like cinnamon; makes everything better. Especially space piracy. That, and I have to counteract that Fox McCloud guy, who is also on Page 15, and his Ayeka worshipping ways (while controlling Bush! What a terrible man). Plus it's the only icon I haven't bothered using yet, and I've been too lazy to work on Autobot and Decepticon ones.

You get 100 Ninja / Pirate / Highlander points for making the recognition call.

Unfair really, I have the series on DVD.

Ryoko is certainly better then Ayeka in any event.

Symphony, suddenly you seem a lot less mature for some odd reason. :mischief:

Uuuh Dungeon Keeper avatar.

Hahahahaahah NES'er meetup, unless any of you are coming to the Qatar Model United Nations Confrence I will likely never see any of you. I know Israelite is into MUN

Or are any of u lot heading to the Kuwait or Cairo Confrence? Cuz I'm proably going to those too.

I might be able to meet with conehead somewhere in DC, but probably no one else...maybe Israelite when I go to Chicago in May/June, but also unlikely, since it never happened last year when I did the same thing.

I think I'm going to an MUN conference in Boston that Israelite is going to.

I'm probably one of the most isolated NESers here... closest one is Goober in Victoria (unless some of the other Canadian NESers live closer). das, Sheep,
BananaLee and silver2039 are also pretty isolated.

Would people be interested in seeing a world map with NESer locations? Or would that just be creepy? (you wouldn't have to be in it if you didn't want to)

That'd actually be excellent, as long as you update first.
